We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominick M. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominick M., how do you think about risk?
When I think of risk taking, I think of doing thing’s outside of your comfort zone. “Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained”. I believe taking risks may yield beneficial gain and taking the “Safe Route” in life is not always the best route too pursue. If new opportunity present’s itself you should “Shoot Your Shot” and either fail and learn a valuable lesson, or succeed and grow as an individual. I believe nothing in life is guaranteed, but that anything is possible if determined enough.

Risk taking has been a huge factor in my life/career as owning and starting my own company is a risk in itself. You have an idea and a vision for that idea and you have to bring that to life. Starting a company from the ground up can be considered a “Leap Into the Dark” financially not knowing if it will bring a positive return. Being consistent in your craft and skill set will usually project you into a positive position for further opportunity in anything you do. Keep your foot work sturdy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Having a creative mindset comes naturally for me as my head is constantly creating new ideas and ways to do thing’s better and more efficiently, sometimes this can be a difficult task for others, or easier. It has it’s pros and cons when it’s time to sleep and you can’t always shut it off. When I’m creating or in a “Flow State” I try to determine what kind of impact it will have in my everyday life. Will it be beneficial? Positive? Is it worth the energy? Will anyone back this? What’s the market like? These are just a few of many thing’s I keep in mind when creating or discussing business ventures.

A few lessons I’ve learned over the years is that you can’t be afraid to fail or be rejected. You can’t succeed without first failing and learning. Staying consistent and determined will catch the interest of other’s. This will not always be easy and will bring challenge but if it were easy everyone would do it. Staying focused and minimizing distraction that doesn’t align with your goals will help you. Network with other people and businesses as much as possible.

In 2020 HOMESICK Clothing (Brand) was just an idea under a few other names over the years. With trial and error It has become a physical brand that is now shipping products internationally and is consistently growing and reaching new heights and goals. Focusing on “Streetwear” and aiming at building the following of our social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook and releasing new products I am excited too see the support and growth of the brand.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give thanks too everyone who has supported my journey thus far new and old. I also want to give thanks too myself where it’s due, thank you.
