Hi -, what are you inspired by?
Beauty- in humans and in nature. Basically inspired by LOVE ~ love of people and this planet.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Heather Lynn is a contemporary fine artist located in Washington DC. She specializes in large scale residential, commercial, and commission work. Lynn’s work is often dense with her self created texture mediums and constructed with vibrant color, movement, and depth. Her most recent works have included sourcing healing crystals, sand, stone, and recycled glass. Lynn has created an innovative technique where she combinesj, crushes the materials, and infuses them into her paints. The effects are powerful, dazzling and mesmerizing. Her work is organic and natural in nature / and never contains toxins such as glue glitter or resin. Lynn has experienced great success as a professional artist with representation in Washington DC, New York City, Miami, and Paris. She loves competing in juried exhibitions and has exhibited across America and Europe.

Update on my business-

My business continues to thrive during the pandemic and I am struggling to keep up;)

2021 was my best year to date selling over 70 pieces of original art. My art found wonderful homes residentially and commercially throughout the states and in Europe.

My exhibition highlights last year were exhibiting at Art Basel in Switzerland and in Miami, the carousel at the Louvre in Paris and NYC expo. My solo show in DC in November “the death of my domestication” was a personal highlight as I had hundreds of people attend my opening despite pandemic fears and restrictions.

2022 is starting off with a bang as well in sales, commissions, and exhibitions. I have had several pieces placed this year in permanent collections in commercial buildings such as The Pierce, The Silva, and The Edge. I have also placed commercial pieces at Law Firms and Lobbyist Firms this year.

In February- I debuted my latest body of work the “Superloved” series at the Palm Beach Show in Florida where I had soooo many sales and interest! It was quite a way to kick off a new year:)

In April – I exhibited in NYC Art Expo at Pier 36 with my French gallery. My work is ironically coming from France, and we have had some transportation issues created by the pandemic.

In May- I have the honor of exhibiting my work at the Cannes Film Festival in the South of France! I plan to make the trip to attend two red carpet events with my Austrian gallery and I am counting the days;)

Also, in May during Cannes I will be exhibiting at Volta in NYC – a prestigious show that coincides with NYC Frieze. I am super sad to miss being there in person!

On June 3rd I have the opening for my solo show in DC for the “Superloved” series. I hope if you are in town you can attend!

In August- I will be exhibiting at the Art Market in the Hamptons.

In October- I will be exhibiting in NYC with Superfine and back the the Louvre in Paris for my third year.

In December- I will be at Scope and also at Art Miami in Basel Miami.

I am proud of how unique my work is and how recognizable my technique is. I invented the process of crushing these natural elements and infusing them – in a chemistry sort of experiment- and I continue to push my own limits in the ways I manipulate these natural elements to my desired affect.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a native Washingtonian and LOVE my city. We would of course have to hit all the Smithsonian Museums with extra attention to time at the Hirshorn and the sculpture gardens. Lots of time outside on the mall with the monuments, biking the C&O path, hiking the Billy Goat Trail in Great Falls on the Maryland side, and of course shopping and eating on the waterfront in Georgetown.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have spent years on the border between life and death. Two of my children are designated Miracle Kids for Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. Although unrelated medical issues, both defied every prognosis and are thriving today. The pain of almost losing them changed my perspective on the world. These traumas and their related miracles are in my every brush stroke. Painting has helped me work through some of this darkness and embrace the silver linings of life. My materials incorporate healing crystals and stones infused in my art to further advance the holistic healing energy in my work. So my shoutout would have to be to my 2 miracle kids and the many many doctors, nurses, physical/occupational/speech therapists who worked tirelessly to save their lives.
