We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaylee Zeno and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaylee, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business was created with others and their needs in mind. I wanted to help build confidence in people because it’s something that can make or break you.
People who exude confidence tend to be recognized more. I know that shouldn’t matter but this is the world we live in and we cannot turn a blind eye to how vicious it can be. With that said, my business was created to help people with issues and concerns they may have. I started the skincare and cosmetics line to help those who want to enhance their natural beauty and didn’t know how. I started the business to help those who may have skincare concerns. Every little thing we do in life affects our body and skin. A lot of people are also uneducated in this field and so I wanted to bring awareness to it and help people make changes for the better. I want to see everyone do better for themselves and WIN!
Looking and feeling your best is so important. I even decided to open up a Wellness Spa (Pathways To Beauty) in Massapequa, Long Island. This wellness spa was created to bring the physical, spiritual, mental and emotional together under one roof. We have treatments that affect the soul, body, and mind. We literally do it all! From reiki, Cryo Spot treatments for arthritis, facials, body contouring, and more; to having a nutritionist, massage therapist, and Nurse Practitioner administering vitamin IV’s to support the immune system and more!
Everything that I have set my mind to do, has been for the benefit of other people. To help others in any way possible so that they can live a healthier lifestyle all around.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
So as I mentioned before, I now have two businesses since the last time you guys heard from me. Beauty With Jaylee and Pathways To Beauty. I think what sets me apart from other businesses (besides the quick turnaround on purchases, super fast delivery, HIGH END products and services), is how I treat my clients and customers. I’m relatable. I legit try to help them with their issues and not just sell a product or service. I love making people feel seen and heard. That’s not something many get. Most businesses care about their bills being paid rather than their customer or client. Our customers and clients are like family. I make them feel welcomed. They know they can be completely transparent with me and I’m going to be nothing less than real with them.
I am super excited about the grand opening of Pathways To Beauty. We are putting a lot into this and we cannot wait to be able to share it with the world.
As I mentioned it’s a wellness center that will meet ALL of your needs! We currently take clients at our temporary location while the main location is being built. But once it is ready to go, we will definitely make a big deal about it! As for Beauty With Jaylee, I’m most proud of how well it’s doing. It’s only been 11 months that it has been around and it continues to thrive well. People love the quality of the products and how well they work. I couldn’t be more proud of it.
I got to where I am today by always looking at the bigger picture. It’s never been in me to give up or start something and not finish it. I always continue to educate myself on my craft and strive for perfection. I never stop. I literally have another certification I’m doing next week which will make 8 certifications in under a year. The best thing you can do is focus, have a passion for it, educate yourself constantly, and know that the more you know, the more your clients and customers will put their trust in you. It isn’t always a smooth ride. There have been times that I felt so overwhelmed and just had to take a mental break.
A business will challenge you in many aspects. But no matter what you are going through, you can’t forget about YOU! Take the days off, take a quick trip to regroup, vent to friends and family, or do whatever it is that puts you in a better mental state. Don’t let the challenges consume you.
Along this journey I learned that your businesses will not be for everyone and that is ok. You cannot build your business to where you try and please everyone. Never sell yourself short so that people can buy from you. Believe in yourself and believe in your brand. Your brand represents you and vice versa. I knew that I wanted Beauty With Jaylee to be high end and so I committed to doing just that. I know that the wellness spa is going to change lives and that’s how I will go about it. I believe in my brands. I know they possess QUALITY. We all know you get what you pay for, right? I think that says it all right there.
I want the world to know that whether you are a client, customer, a follower, etc., you don’t have to purchase anything from us in order to learn from us. We give out gems daily. A simple conversation will give you knowledge and that alone is priceless. We make sure to help those that want it. We will always support others. We are not in competition with anyone other than ourselves. Therefore, I don’t want what others have and others can’t be who we are. Be you. Be unique. I’m constantly speaking to other small business owners and sharing my stories, resources, knowledge, creating opportunities for those who want them, etc. In this beauty industry, the key is to help others. We can all climb to the top. We will all differ from one another. That’s itself is beauty. Our brand is unique because of who we are as individuals.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So being from NY, you tend to take for granted all the good spots we have out here. If my friend was visiting here, I’d definitely take them to BarTaco in Port Chester! I loveeee that place! Their guacamole is amazing! Visiting the village in Manhattan is where you would find some of the most exciting people. They have great bars down there too! The Alice In Wonderland experience is fun, if you like riddles and puzzles with alcohol, lol. We would visit Levity Live in West Nyack, which is a comedy club and their white sangria’s are gooooood. Another good place for the summer is the nautical mile on Long Island. They have a mile of bars, lounges, stores, and restaurants all by the water. There’s so many places in NY to go that you just can’t be bored.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh man, this is tough…. There are so many people I’m incredibly thankful and grateful for that have supported me in all that I have set my mind to. For one, GOD… he has never stopped blessing me and giving me a gift to bless others. Of course my friends and family have been in my corner through it all. I lost some people along the way but that’s God’s way of saying they weren’t meant to be in your next chapter and I’m ok with that. I learned so much from people and continue to learn daily. My business partner, Rachel is amazing! She’s a BOSS and it’s been great opening this wellness center together. I learn from her and she learns from me. It’s a well-oiled machine with us. We are like ying and yang.
Another person who has helped greatly is my sister Carmen. She steps in when needed and with no questions. I don’t know what I would do without her. Pam and my cousin Dimas have always been great with advice and listening to my woes along the journey and still continue to be there for me no matter what. I have been really blessed to have an amazing support system behind me and amazing people to share and build the journey with.
