We had the good fortune of connecting with Suhay Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Suhay, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my business was to own my emotions – converting sadness into joy after my mother passed away. My goal is to bring awareness to brain health and contribute to the effort of finding a cure by donating a portion of the proceeds from Seis Cosmetics to glioblastoma brain tumor research.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Seis Cosmetics is inspired by my passion and love of makeup. As an entrepreneur, you learn lessons every day. A lesson I quickly learned is that building, launching and running a business requires a lot of work and dedication but it’s worth it.

I want the world to know that Seis Cosmetic was boot-strapped by a resilient Latina. I am motivated to provide cruelty-free, nontoxic cosmetics for everyone. It’s a brand created by a makeup enthusiast for other makeup lovers offering a variety of lip care products and a diverse selection of colors. Sometimes lipstick or lipgloss can make up a statement without saying a word! Complement your beauty routine with Seis Cosmetics!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my friends visit, I take them to Pembroke Garden, City Place and Hard Rock for dinner and drinks. The ambiance is really nice and there’s a variety of outdoor entertainment with diverse music and positive energy. All my friends will be wearing Seis Cosmetics, taking pictures and feeling amazing!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I worked on rigorously educating myself since I wanted to launch quality cruelty-free products and offer options such as vegan, organic and a variety of shades for all ethnicities.  When I first had the thought of building my own company, I immediately shared it with my older sister, Daelloy Jimenez. Her motivation and encouragement were all I needed. Plus, Tiffany Lynn, Gliny Ramos, Raquel Bencosme and Heidi Hernandez were all so incredibly supportive. I’m very proud of my products, my mission and the ability to honor my mother through Seis Cosmetics. It is extremely satisfying to know I have an amazing circle of wonderful individuals who believe in me!
