Meet Tierney Jones | Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tierney Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tierney, what do you attribute your success to?
One of the biggest factors behind my business is honestly perseverance. Starting this business has showed me soo much and it’s not easy. There are days and sometimes weeks where I don’t feel good enough, I don’t feel as if I’m progressing as I should etc. My way of combating those nasty thoughts are honestly praying and working even harder. Doing makeup is soo much more to me than just a hobby. I eat, sleep, and poop makeup lol. I constantly remind myself to be grateful for where I am currently instead of being upset that I’m not where I want or feel I deserve to be.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As of right now, I am working as an Home Health Aide preparing to take my state board test to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. My journey profession wise has been fairly easy but I know it’s because I haven’t encountered the real challenges yet. Some lessons I’m learning along the way are patience and understanding. Working with elderly people who suffer from different types of diseases and illnesses is truly not for the weak. When it comes to me and my story, I would simply want the world to know the underdog always comes out on top. It may not seem like it for a very long time but with constant work, determination, and faith there’s nothing that can’t get done.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If i had a friend visit, honestly I would take them out of Miami. People tend to think Miami is so great and amazing but I’m telling you there are soo many better things out there outside of Miami, Florida. Key west and Pensacola is notoriously known for its hotspot fishing destinations and beaches, Tampa has great museums and you simply can’t forget Disney World.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If there’s any person I could dedicate my shoutout to who deserves credit, it would be my mom. I know it’s very common for people to say that but truly, no one else can keep me motivated more than her. From wiping my tears, to making calls to her friends and their daughter to be models for me, to passing my cards out at work. My mother is such a strong woman and I hope to be able to be as strong as her one day. She pushes me to always continue no matter the obstacles. Sometimes you may have to take a step or two back but NEVER GIVE UP.
