We had the good fortune of connecting with Nancy Rand and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nancy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to share my beauty expertise with the world., along with creating a brand.

My mission is to empower, and enlighten as many woman.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a child I was obsessed with studying womens beauty. You were always able to find me playing with my older sisters makeup. After graduating college with a business degree, I knew I wanted to work in a creative field. My first opportunity was with Redbook Magazine, as the Promotion/ Merchandising Coordinator. There I was able to express my creativity, while as a hobby doing makeup on anyone I could.

After many years in corporate America, I finally took the plunge to start my own business. I knew I wanted it all, makeup artistry & amazing products. Thats when TOUCH COSMETICS was born. My focus was to cater to an active, modern woman. I wanted to take the guess work out of a woman’s makeup routine. TC’s are 100% fragrance free, hypo allergenic, waterproof and many are mineral based.

I knew with taking baby steps each day towards my goal, I deservingly would get there.

Fast forward..,it’s now been 25 years and I can honestly say, “I never work, I do what I love”! My message is find your passion and turn it into a career, with time, patience and Perseverance you will get there….I did!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in the “Magical City” of Miami there are so many wonderful things to do.

The Wynwood Walls, the Miami Design District, the Perez & Science Museum’s downtown. There’s so much culture, the theatre’s, multi cultural restaurants.

From South to North there’s so much to explore. The beautiful beaches, shopping, etc…

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give thanks to Ellen Latham, creator of Orangetheory Fitness for giving me the “push” that I needed. Ellen, believed in me & gave me my initial opportunity.
