We had the good fortune of connecting with India Graham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi India, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Everything great requires taking a risk. In business, you have to be willing to invest into yourself and invest into your craft or whatever drives the passion of you pursuing whatever it is that you feel will make you great. The profession I am in may not be for everyone. It does require a certain ear for music. However, if you say you want to be great in something, you have to take a risk in order to stand out from the rest. Evolving is very necessary for one’s success.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I make music for literally everyone. The sounds I create are different and my music has always been timeless, as I don’t like to limit myself. I am very proud of how versatile I am, even when it comes to stepping into other genres and setting trends. Getting here was not easy to say the least. From working with different management, hand picking top producers, and moving around from state to state, there were so many setbacks as it seems some thing was always getting in the way. Being resilient is a key part of what made me who I am today. I also have the military to thank for that. I want the world to know that wherever you come from or what you have gone through, does not make you who you are. You have the power to allow the past to shape whatever future you want to call yours.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, if they’re visiting Miami, I would start off by taking them to the Xtreme Action Park in Fort Lauderdale. I’m a big kid so any place where there’s fun things to do like go-kart racing, laser tag, or dodge ball, is a plus for me. I would end that first night at a restaurant called Truluck’s in Miami. They have some of the best seafood and the ambiance there is perfect, whether you’re looking for a girl’s night out or a romantic dinner date. If they need a real adventure, I would take them to the Florida Keys. There we could rent a private yacht. I could teach them how to fish and we could even feed the tarpon fish, which was pretty cool my first time visiting the keys. After a couple of days, I would take them to the classic Drive-In movie theater on Sunrise Blvd. To end this trip, it is a must to head to the beach for a relaxing picnic and to reflect on all the awesome things they may have learned or were inspired by. I know one thing they will appreciate is the culture. The culture taught me a lot of great things, even down to the dancehall vibes I like to share in my music.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, none of this would be possible without God. My family has been the biggest influence on me. My mom is a very intelligent woman. She helped me get through a lot of hardships and reminded me of how strong I can be. My uncle Jeremy taught me at a young age, how to make beats, and my great Aunt taught me discipline. Last but definitely not the least, I want to give a shoutout to my fans for keeping me going and always encouraging me.
