We had the good fortune of connecting with Marie Kubin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was planning my wedding and became frustrated that there weren’t any online rental companies. It was very time-consuming to contact local vendors and ask for pricing and details. As I started getting quotes for wedding lighting, I found it was very expensive and out of my budget. This sparked the idea to solve 2 problems: Make it easy to book wedding rentals online, AND make it affordable! So, I purchased inventory and figured out how to make my own website. I am proud to say the company has now become the largest online event rental company in the U.S., with the most 5-star reviews in the industry. We work with everyone from couples on a budget to celebrity parties and corporate events. Rental products include event lighting, photo booths, backdrops, pipe & drape, canopies, chair covers, and more. All rentals are designed for quick and easy do-it-yourself setup. Clients order online, and rentals are delivered directly to their door. Shipping is free both ways nationwide.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
RENT MY WEDDING is a nationwide online event rental company. The rental process is simple – just order online, and we deliver everything to your door! After the event, put everything back in the same box for return. Shipping is FREE both ways nationwide!

What sets us apart is that we guarantee every single rental is perfect. Over the past 10 years we’ve developed procedures and automations designed to catch every possible issue that could happen. For example, our inventory availability is always accurate, and every item is tested before shipping to ensure it’s in perfect working condition. We also monitor all shipments. If there are any weather or FedEx issues, we always overnight a replacement package, complimentary.

I’m most proud of our product innovations. We developed the first portable photo booth. For the first time ever, anyone could get a photo booth shipped to their door and set it up within 5 minutes. (It fits in a briefcase!). We also designed the first portable pipe & drape kit. Typically decorating venue walls with draping requires heavy-duty equipment and a team of professionals. Now it can be done by anyone in 30 minutes or less. (It comes in a duffle bag!). All of our products have been modified to make them easy for anyone to setup.

What do I want everyone to know about my brand? We don’t just do weddings! Use our rentals to make any party or event look amazing. We have options for every budget.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A beach day is always a must when visiting Miami! Spend the day relaxing, then get some exercise with a nice walk along the boardwalk. At night, head to Wynwood. Check out all the street art before heading to ASTRA for dinner and drinks. They have an awesome rooftop with a DJ. For Sunday brunch, head to Joia Beach. Miami is all about being outside with great views and great music — Joia beach checks all those boxes! Next up, plan a boat day. You can rent a boat or get on a tour. It’s always fun to cruise around Star Island and then hit up the sandbar. After a day on the boat, head to Lagniappe. This is a great spot to hang out. Get food and drinks to take outside, or head inside for live music. If you have one more day, either go shopping or check out museums! There are too many awesome museums and boutiques to list — but whatever you do, go to Coyo Taco for lunch! For your last night, have dinner at Klaw. It is seriously THE BEST restaurant in Miami. It also happens to be on the water with epic views, too.

I’d like to give a big shoutout to everyone on my team! I’m so thankful for the awesome people I work with each day. From the office to the warehouse, every single person truly cares about our company and our clients. The customer service team is so patient and friendly. Graphic designers go the extra mile to create special custom artwork. On the admin side, they are dedicated to watching every single shipment and making sure it arrives on time. And the warehouse does whatever it takes to get every order out on time, while still checking each box twice to be sure it’s perfect. This amazing team is the reason for our success!
