We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process for starting Britt’s Sips was solely that I felt that people’s main concern at the time was their health. At the peak of COVID, I wanted people to feel like they were taking control of strengthening their immune system, finding ways to remain positive and healthy in the midst of chaos and uncertainty. And even better, they wouldn’t have to leave their homes to achieve this!
I’d implemented my juice combinations in my life for years to keep me strong, healthy, and in shape, and I wanted to share the wealth and knowledge at that delicate time to create healthy habits for my customers to continue living that way!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I work as an event host and personality in many avenues, but my favorite is as an in-arena host for the Miami Heat. I started with the Heat as a Dancer in 2017, and they nurtured and cultivated my interests into a whole career path. I used to do a pregame interview, change into my uniform, perform with my team during home games, then change back to do in game hits! It was such a thrilling way to experience on the job training while still doing so many of the things I enjoyed about my job. It never really felt like hard work because I loved it so much! I’ve learned to always advocate for myself, always be humble, and always be willing to try anything if you believe the end result is personal growth!
My brand and story is be authentically you! Live in your truth. We all are complicated and complex.. we have so many passions and loves in this life. Who says there isn’t a way to live each one of them everyday and ENJOY WHAT YOU DO??? Absolutely no one. I’m a dancer, a personality, and entrepreneur, a health advocate, a gym rat.. I’m all encompassing. And there’s nothing wrong with that!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m such a homebody, but I do enjoy a night out on the town every once in awhile. Of course, we’d have to get to a Heat game for sure! I love Komodo and Baby Jane in Brickell… those are my foodie spots.
But if we want to switch it up, let’s head to Wynwood and stop by Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen for some good Caribbean food and vibes.
And we have to finish up with a relaxing beach day or pool day!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Man… I owe so much of my accomplishments and successes to the amazing people in my life! My family first and foremost! We support each other wholeheartedly, challenge each other, and create together. I’d also thank the Heat Group in its entirety to affording me the opportunity to grow everyday doing things I love and connecting me with coworkers, that have become my family and mentors over the years. They push me to keep creating, keep growing, and keep a spirit of gratitude everyday.
