We had the good fortune of connecting with Vinceaun Minto and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vinceaun, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The biggest lesson I have learned thus far in my career is to never say no. To elaborate a little more on that what I mean is with every opportunity that I have been presented no matter whether it was big or small, I always said yes when an opportunity/chance presented itself in front of me. It was the small opportunities that led me to the bigger ones. Don’t be afraid to say yes because oftentimes it will lead one to even further heights that they could have never imagined.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My persistence sets me apart, I have been an artist/creative for 16 years now (since 7 years old) and ever since I picked up my first pencil, I never put it back down and that has enabled me to excel in my artistic career faster than some. I am most excited about the future of my career because as an artist, one never stops growing, there are no limitations in the field of art which is why I love it. I was able to get to the level I am at today by spending countless hours at my desk and on projects perfecting my craft. It certainly was not easy because I endured a lot of mental strain and had to make a lot of sacrifices but every part of my difficult journey was worth it. I overcame the difficulty by remembering the future life I wanted to live and constantly reminded myself, if I worked hard now, it would pay off sooner rather than later. What do I want the world to know? I want the world to know that before my time is up, my name will be in the history books.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
-Lunch/dinner: Fireside Restaurant -Entertainment: Cannon Beach
-Hangout: Pool bar
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without a doubt, I owe my success to a multitude of people (too many to count to be exact). Firstly, my mom, Keonna Proctor, and my immediate family because they always believed in me even more than I believed in myself at times. I also would like to give recognition to my closest friends, Josiah Fletcher and Matthew Phuse for always motivating me to reach new heights. And lastly, I can’t forget to give recognition to Bowie State University and the amazing faculty. They presented me with various connections and opportunities that would’ve been difficult had I been doing it on my own.
