We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackie Dalius and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jackie, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued a creative career as the Founder & CEO of MuzicSwipe, because I have been obsessed with the music industry since I was a little girl. I grew up listening to a variety of music from Backstreet Boys to Prince to High School Musical soundtrack to Miley Cyrus to Van Halen to just name a few. Listening to these artists, expanded my creative mind from a young age, that ultimately set me a part from my peers. I became extremely interested in artist’s and their stories of rising to fame at around 12 years old when I bought books on Michael Jackson’s rise to fame. I began studying how to grow talented artists and that studying has never stopped. MuzicSwipe is everything from my life that involves my love for creatives and fans to connect and build relationships brought together by the love of music.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
MuzicSwipe is the platform for rising artists and fans that adore finding the next big thing. Similar to dating apps, you swipe right or left on an artist’s music, called a “Clip,” and then the user creates a match to ultimately build fan relationships with artists. I am so excited about helping to grow many artists’ career on MuzicSwipe and beyond. We are still in the beginning of MuzicSwipe, which is so exciting, because we launched our beta version of the application earlier this year. I would say every business has its challenges, but you need to surround yourself with a team that believes in the mission of your business. I’ve learned so many lessons in a short amount of time, one of the most important lessons I’ve learned was to always trust your gut. Your gut feeling is everything! Trust it. If you feel a certain way about a certain project or person, you’re right. I want the world to know that I’m here to stay, and every artist and fan should know that I am a true fan girl at heart that will always root for the underdog to succeed in the music industry.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Okay, when you’re a friend of mine and you’re visiting Miami, FL, you’re in great hands! I would take them to the best food spots, views, relaxation, and nightlife in Miami. Some of my favorite spots to eat in Miami are a wide variety of atmospheres, starting with the best Chinese food in the area, called Beijing Cafe, Pura Vida for lunch, and Komodo for dinner and drinks! Miami Beach by the Nobu Hotel is one of my favorite beach spots. I love hanging out in Wynwood for a casual fun night out at Pilos! My current favorite night out spots with my friends would be Vendome and GALA in Miami Beach. If you’re visiting Miami for the first time and you want to have a good time, you have to check out these spots!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This is the easiest answer, my family. I would have never been introduced to old CDs and records without my parents influence as a young girl. I would have never been in dance class, where my love of music and artists grew deeper. There would be no traveling to Los Angeles, CA, where I fell in love with the entertainment capital of the world. My parents are the biggest influence on my life, they showed me that I can do anything I want in this life as long as I have passion, discipline, and a great attitude.
