We had the good fortune of connecting with Regine Jillea Dawson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Regine Jillea, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
In my opinion, if you have a “why?” you should never give up. I started my business because I want to inspire young girls to be rich. I want to to inspire others to strive for their dreams and believe they are worthy of them. In my mind, even on the days that my spirit is crushed, I still say to myself “Just keep going.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have learned that you have to stay true to yourself. I want the world to know that Regine is Regine. I’m not trying to be Rihanna nor Beyoncé, even though I admire the both of them. I want to strive to be the best me and I feel like we all should do the same. My brand is based off of all the women I have encountered in my life and I try to reflect the similarities and differences between us. My story is a story of strength. I want Hovsewife to be a brand of the woman and her strength.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Monday- Lolita Dessert Club Tuesday- Chef Creole
Wednesday-Sexy Fish, just for the pictures
Thursday- Perez Art Museum
Friday-Miami Design District, maybe Swan
Saturday-Miami Dolphins Game
Sunday-Rest at Oleta River Park

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother deserves a little credit and recognition for being such an understanding mom to a creative child. She allowed me to experiment with makeup, how I wanted to dress, and encouraged me to be the best and do my best.
