We had the good fortune of connecting with Louis-Marie Doreus and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Louis-Marie, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Everyone’s path in life is not the same. What may work for others may not work for you. Whenever I feel myself beginning to want to give up, I remind myself how far I’ve already gotten with the obstacles I’ve already faced. I allow myself to reflect on what’s the issue at hand and make my decision on how to move forward. I also love a good challenge and feel it’s way easier to give up than keep going.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I defintely feel like my authenticity sets me apart from a lot of people. I’m very straight forward even if I don’t intend to be. I’m mostly excited about whats to come as far as my career. I personally feel like i have a lot of more work professionally to get done but as of right now the moves I’ve made so far have set me in different places and given me a lot of opportunities, it definitely wasn’t easy. Allowing myself to take each task one at a time made things a lot more easier. I’ve learned a lot of lessons so far but one of the biggest to me is knowing that I cant take on everything by myself, which is something that I’ve struggled a lot with. I want the world to know that they cant count me out, no matter how hard they may try.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would say definitely Ocean Drive. We could eat out at Prime 112, we could visit museums, go sightseeing, etc. For me, I would say going on a boat ride at Bayside or even enjoying their new Skyview Miami wheel. With Miami being a busy city there’s a lot to do.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout is definitely dedicated to all my friends, my favorite highschool teachers, and certain family members who supported me in anyway possible. Without them a lot of things that I’ve already accomplished couldn’t have happened. I greatly appreciate them and truly love their support.
