Meet Nikki Coote | Master stylist; owner of Vybe

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki Coote and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nikki, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I decided to start my own business I really wanted to control my environment, and build my brand . I wanted to have a location curated to be positive and happy every time a client walked in. Top tier customer service is very important to me and always the focus besides producing beautiful, fabulous, healthy hair.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for over 13 years. I specialize in several techniques however my favorite would have to be natural hair and luxury hair extensions. What sets me apart from other hairstylist is my passion for healthy hair. I brag on my green thumb, being able to grow and maintain hair. I’m proud to offer a wash and conditioning with every service as it’s almost a lost art. I’ve learned that you can’t please everyone and it’s okay to say no and refuse a service to protect your peace and energy. I named my salon Vybe because that is the ultimate goal to ensure that everyone that sits with me enjoys the ambience and loves the Vybe in the atmosphere. I want to be known and remembered as a diversed hairstylist that was all about the beauty, health and integrity of hair.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Bestie is in town and we are going to paint the town from Fort Lauderdale to Miami. I’m vegan and she’s flexatarian so we would hit up popular spots like the rabbit hole off of Atlantic, Planta Queen in Las olas especially Vannuchi brothers in Hollywood. We would go to the beach and go jet skiing hit up yachtbaebritt and get on a boat. Definitely have to hit up Wynwood and bar hop. Hit up adventura mall to shop and catch a movie at the ipic in boca
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First I wanna thank God for giving me my Talents and gifts to give back to the world And keeping me strong to persevere through all challenges, tests, trials and tribulations along the way. I want to thank my foundation Paul Mitchell the school Jacksonville there is where I learned my professionalism and the science behind hair. My learning leaders specifically Adrienne Carradine, Andraea Green, and yekiylehyah Israel realizing my gift and pouring into me creating a firm foundation in cosmetology. I want to give a shoutout to my Bestie Latoya McNally that has been encouraging me to take a leap at entrepreneurship but I was too afraid she saw the vision before me and constantly brags on me . Plus my old work mates at stunts barber and beauty lounge they actually forced me to get on my own and now look at all this success Vybe would’ve never existed if we didn’t take that road trip. Lastly all of my clients that trust me with their hair and repeatedly come and sit with me they are the ones that keep me thriving and I appreciate every single one of them honorable mention to Michelle Pinder if she does nothing else she’s going to brag about me repost my work and send me new clients so thankful for my support system.
