We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsie Cordero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chelsie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have been in sports all of my life, conditioning was part of my day, I see the importance of being disciplined in one’s day and the effects it has on your body, your mind and energy as time goes on. In the gyms that I have worked in, I’ve seen how robotic it can be, use this machine, do that machine, you don’t really get to work with the client.
Getting to know the client and working within their schedule and lifestyle is key, not all bodies are the same and not all circumstances allow for gym training. I like to get to know my clients, and to learn what works for them and what doesn’t the goal is to create carving out workouts in your daily routines as a form of habit. The personal attention to the individual is what matters in order to achieve the results they desire. It isn’t about perfection, its about a better version of self. I can help create that version.
I work with clients who are dedicated to improving their lives, who are committed to change, who have drive to do what it takes to make that change.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
BodybyCC is just that, the body you want CC (Chelsie Cordero) will help you achieve. I think what sets me apart from others is the mindset that we all have what it takes to make the change necessary, I have a patient drive, if that makes sense, patient with my clients way of achieving their goals, some learn fast, some learn slower but steady. I learn my clients style and conform to what makes them comfortable, and go from there. Not to say I’m a push over, I am very much a professional and expect the work to be done, but I’m there to coach, support and understand what your body is saying, we pivot and adjust when necessary to make sure my clients stick with the program and achieve their goals.
Much more than sticking with the program, developing a report with my clients makes it easier to understand their needs, their true desire in their goals. Some people don’t want muscle just to loose a little weight. Some prefer the muscle, some prefer to build the stamina for sports. I’ve been there for all of it, and understand the struggles and I’m committed to their success as much as my client is.
I would like people to understand that fitness is about truly find the way to fit your workouts in your lifestyle, even if its only 10 minutes day. I can help coach my clients and holding them accountable for their success. Together we will get there, its a mindset you must prioritize your body, it’s like the motor of your car, keeps you running.
Eating well, and exercise can and will change your life, your outlook on life. Your endorphins in high gear and it’s just bottled up inside. I help my clients find their own motivation to maximize their fitness goals.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a social bug, and I do love good food, which is why I have to balance it with exercise and allow myself cheat days, because we are all human and we all need to enjoy life. So when friends come to town, I love taking them to Cocoa Beach, the sun, the water and the views are so relaxing. Then enjoy a brunch on the beach, yes with mimosas and nice fish, veggies, ceviche, clams, I love all things seafood, or maybe go for sushi.
At night we switch things up, a steak dinner, with sweet potato and a ceasar salad is my favorite. My friends and I tend to find local spots and enjoy some music, dance a little and allow for a few drinks, each drink followed by a glass of water is best. Miami Beach is another hot spot I enjoy at least once a year. Jet skiing, riding a moped, boating with friends, never ending dancing every where you go, site seeing. Letting loose is just as important, and it’s the perfect time to showcase all your hard work.
After, guest go back home, I enjoy my quiet time again, and getting back into my routines.
I do love traveling and hope to enjoy more of it in the coming years.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my parents, who encouraged me to stay active. As a child I was full of energy and it was difficult to focus. My mom saw that some how I focused more when I had a busy schedule vs. too much time in my hands. So she signed me up to 3 things throughout the year.
Something in music, which was dance for me.
Something Creative, which was acting for me.
Something in sports, which was tae kwon do, track, softball or basketball for me
In order to enjoy any of the above I had to do well in school, so It would force me to focus and do well in school.
But something else, that was instilled was whatever you do, don’t do it half way, do it all the way or its not worth doing.
So in every sport, I excelled. My favorite part was conditioning the practice, getting better, striving for the win.
Until this day, even when I had my jobs, I always strived to do my best, to be the best, or learn from the best. So I give my best to my clients, and help them achieve their best results.
