We had the good fortune of connecting with Vicky Zimerfeld and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vicky, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
This question comes up very often in photography business. It’s a creative industry that is always changing, if you don’t keep up with the changes it could be easy to give up. I have always loved photography so much and can’t see myself doing anything else. I’m always learning new things, adding different services, working on personal projects with models and looking for motivation, inspiration all around to keep going.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is about capturing life, as simple as that but my goal is to capture true emotions. Each milestone is so important and it all goes by so fast, I want my clients to have all the feelings looking back at the memories I’ve captured. When I first started 11 years ago there was a lot to learn and one day it just all clicked, I’m a lifestyle photographer. I don’t need any fancy props, it’s all about my object and simple backgrounds the mastery is to figure out how to work with each client in the moment to capture what I envision for that particular family. It really isn’t the camera that takes good pictures, it’s the artist creating.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We moved to Boca Raton a little over two years ago and my favorite place is the beach. Being outdoors is our goal here, the beauty of nature has always been one of my biggest inspirations and we are always exploring with the kids and pets. Dog beach, intercoastal, boating, fishing, roadtrips, nature walks, ice cream shops, candy stores and funky decor restaurants so many amazing places in South Florida.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My kids, husband, pets and friends have all been my models, muses, assistants, cheerleaders and more, support from so many around me and I am so thankful for that.
