We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosalyn Moch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rosalyn, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important thing my career has taught me is to stay consistent and humble with my work and work ethic. I always remind myself to keep going regardless of any obstacles or challenges that may come up! Don’t listen to the naysayers or take what they say to heart who cares what anyone thinks. Be your true authentic self. If anything I am everything and more and people are going to talk regardless.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a freelance makeup artist based in Houston (Rosenberg), Tx who provides on-location makeup services for all your special occasions and events. I work well with all skin tones, face shapes, and skin types. My fascination in makeup stems from my love of the art of expression. It’s much more than a nice eye shadow or a favorite lip gloss. Makeup is an avenue for self expression and its possibilities are endless.

I have always been passionate about makeup and the beauty industry. I was educated and trained by “The Makeup School by Sarah Rillion” a well-known Makeup Artistry school with accredited work in the film, modeling, photography and bridal industries, and prior to that I proudly served 14 years in the armed forces in the United States NAVY.

I find my success comes from my ability to connect with people, and draw from my varied experiences, providing a superior level of professionalism and customer service to all clients. I am a strong advocate that true beauty lives in each and every individual. To me, makeup just enhances beauty and should never be used to mask the beauty that a person was born with. With my knowledge of makeup, cosmetic brands, marketing and the beauty industry, I hope to contribute as much as I can and instill in the minds of others that confidence and true beauty is found deep within the confines of one’s soul!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Houston, and theirs so much to see and do! Since imma creative I love anything artsy! They have the graffiti buildings, where everyone takes pictures because it has the iconic Houston written in graffiti. Then when you go downtown they have a place where you can watch movies on a rooftop and have good cocktails. If you’re foodie there is always some place to eat. Houston is very diverse and caters to all ethnicities and cultures!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’re so many people that have been instrumental in my development and growth as a MUA. However, my mother has taught me that hard times can be overcome and that losing battles can be won. She has taught me more than I could have learnt from any book. She taught me a lot of life lessons and different things in between. She’s an inspirational example to me teaching me how to live life and make wise choices and decisions, even in the most uncertain situations. I respect her opinion and how she feels is very important to me!.
