We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Coons and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brian, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When it comes to risk I always think about all of the factors that come to mind, if I don’t take this risk what will happen but if I do what will happen? I think one of the biggest things for me is to get out there and just take that risk because it could be the most rewarding risk you ever took and if you don’t take it you’ll never know.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started from humble means but I worked very hard to get to where I am through many tribes and tribulations. I failed countless times which I believe is the true mandatory ingredient in success. I picked up the business bug early in life and ran with it. I learned by default and took the path less traveled by and it made all of the difference. I actually started my first business when I was 7 selling magazines and candy, but I kept going through life and by 17 I owned a pressure washing company and an entertainment business. I continued on through college because I believed that was what was right because through my high school years I had a lot of doubt and a lot of haters who didn’t want to see me succeed. I had teachers and counselors and people along the way who acted like they had my best interest but they really never did. I worked into Djing with my best friend Jeff Molner who is a very well known Dj and Top Producing Real Estate Agent between Palm Beach and Miami as well as myself DJRajesty. So how we came to that name was by putting my first name I was born with from India which was Rajesh and majesty together to form one word which is Rajesty. Both of my names whether American or Indian mean King so I had to run with it as It only made sense. Jeff was a huge staple in my success early on and had introduced to the likings of Andrew Lazar who is an amazing music executive coming from Miami who saw and recognized my talent stemming off of Jeff’s. Their were times I really didn’t want to listen and Andrew will tell you we had our moments and at times we fell out but we always came back together and our circle is strong as ever before. I performed or worked alongside Jeff Molner and AJ Boloy who is now a successful real estate attorney in Palm Beach but I was able to shadow and work alongside these fine musical talents over many years and we became great friends. I have opened or performed with Jeff throughout South Florida and around the country and we all have opened or been featured alongside many successful artists like Major Lazer, Tyga, Shaun Frank, The Chainsmokers, NGHTMRE, and many more. I had a lot of influence by successful business men in my early 20’s when I worked as a celebrity gate agent for Worldwide Flight Services. I met many celebrities from President Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, Gail King, Neil Sedaka, Spike Lee, Tony Bennett, Jack Hannah and Bill Rancic. The list goes on but just to name a few, they all taught me something magical about success. Tony Benett privately serenaded me in the waiting area to singing in the rain and he explained that you can take your talent anywhere, literally. You get enough of a driving force behind you and people in your corner that want to see you succeed you will in fact succeed. It wasn’t easy to make it to the top but I found that by moving from Washington State to South Florida over 20 years ago was the best decision I have ever made for myself. That was one major shift in my life that needed to occur and it sure did pay off. I come from a small town called Clarkston Washington and not a lot of people have heard of it nor will they ever, however, I would like to put my hometown on the map because of the rich history there, it was named after William Clark and Lewis Meriwhether the two explorers who set out with Sacajawea to conquer the West and pave new ways for travel by water and land. It was oringally named JawBone Flats after the flat area below the plateau of land above it just south of Spokane Washington. Their were many talents to also come out of my hometown such as Bill Scharnhorst who is the lead chippendale dancer out of Las Vegas and he’s made many television appearances and countless shows on MTV, Ellen and more over the years. Jimmy Farris who is a Super Bowl Champion with the New England Patriots, Josh Heytvelt who played Pro Basketball in Europe and Joel Dahmen who is a professional golfer playing on the PGA right now as we speak. They all came from my hometown so I was raised around talent my entire life. I have no choice but to succeed. So here I am paving a way for my current and future success in both real estate and music. I do have other side incomes and businesses that have helped financially propel myself but stemming from the entrepreneurial mindset that I have I never saw failure as an option.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow! I can go on an on about this! If I was to have some friends or family come down I would first like to show my family and friends Collins Ave, and South Beach, that’s a must! Particularly the clock tower, and then The ESPN Zone at the Clevelander where we have performed a time or two. I enjoy the downtown area a lot, Brickell and City Center. So I would say we could go to Sugar Factory, Komodo or Papi Steak. Barton G’s is always good, Kiki On the River, Planta if you’re vegetarian or vegan. I really like Virginia Key, and a lot sights there and taking a boat or jet ski into key biscayne. If you’re adventurous and enjoy nightlife you can go to STK, Story, LIV, or hangar, Club Space, E11EVEN, many places to choose from along the club strip there. Many hotels from the Fountaine Bleu to Eden Roc, and Hotel 1 and many more to stay at, the Raleigh is a great choice too.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I would like to start by saying that I was born on the streets of Calcutta India and I was nurtured and take care of by Saint Mother Theresa and Cherie Clark. I was adopted by the Late Thomas and Patricia Coons from Clarkston, Washington and then Blessed by Pope John Paul II and spiritually guided by Mahatma Gandhi’s fifth grandson Arun Gandhi. I believe all of these people in the form of blessings have helped shape my life and encouraged me to become the best man in anything I do. I would like to put a special emphasis and thanks to my late parents because without them I would be nothing, they were the most amazing text book parents a kid could ask for and they were nothing short of angels.
