We had the good fortune of connecting with Heidy Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heidy, what is the most important factor behind your success?
OPTIMISM

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Is hard to talk about myself, I don’t want to sound arrogant, but, what had worked for me is being myself, organic, I’m too honest when I have to say something. My professionalisms when keeping a great customer service and creating the best experience ever for every single patient. I believe the combination of all of that sets me apart from others. Consistency, feel passionate about what you do, believe in yourself, educate yourself in order to influence others for good, including your clients, coworkers or employees. I’m so proud of the woman I am, “my baby” that’s how I call my business! But yeah I looked at myself and I’ve come a long way. It wasn’t easy at all, but worth it. As I’ve explained before, once to you guys, I’m from an island, Dominican Republic, and I moved to the United States just 7 years ago. It was challenging because of the language, starting over, and opening my own place. I think about it and there were days that I was exhausted, asking myself what did I got myself into. But let me tell you, all the sacrifices were worth it. I don’t regret it at all. Something that helped me a lot overcoming the challenges was patience, which I learned with this project. I used to be the type of person that wanted everything in life like a drive thru, but I learned that life is not that simple, so building patience helps a lot. I’ve learn that when you get tired of wearing your shoes all day long, instead of throwing them away, hold them in your hands, laugh and just sit down. Take a break and the next day put your shoes back with another attitude or a different point of view. 😉 My brother, my sister in law and my real friends supported me a lot. To cry is a great therapy (lol). To think about why I was doing all that, why I was going through those challenges. Focusing myself in the goal. I’ve learned that you can’t have control of everything in life, I’m not perfect, I make mistakes but I learn and work towards fixing them. Also, you have to delegate. To keep a balance is really important. Be professional all the time but be spontaneous. Never stop learning, try your best and keep positive everyday, it can be challenging some days but it will amaze you to see how you can handle it. Take care of yourself, have sometime during the week just for you, a massage, getting your nails done, get time away from your phone and live, to recharge yourself. Is normal to feel you can’t keep it up but never give up!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
