We had the good fortune of connecting with Ignacio Orellana and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ignacio, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have been doing this type of photography work for a number of years now and all of these years never realized that i was doing it only for a certain group of people, Real Estate Agents. So one day i was eating at a local restaurant where they offer one of their floor for parties and things like that… and i thought, maybe people would like to see the space before booking it… and since then i started to do it for them too.
There is no right or wrong really but how you can adapt what you do to another angle, same thing but different. That is the mindset.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a drummer since 14 years, since then everything i’ve ever done is related to that. Since my degree on TV i have applied those skills combined with my musical talents… so pretty much is all over the place in terms of what can be done… photography, music compositions, performance, production, and of course audio and video editing and recording, production… even the way that have evolutioned for me since analog times to digital trends. The way of working now is and always has been a direct connection to my drumming skills and all of that. 🙂
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Manhattan, NY and there are plenty of spots to be around, in fact i am always for the lookout for new ones because you can easily find them if you like to walk around the city but my special spot is at Dumbo, Brooklyn. I like it because it is open with a big sky and you can seat down on the grass or by the water and check out Manhattan from far away.
Most of the times i take my costumers there for a session of engagement photos or simply for the secret proposal. Love to be there when is hot and clear sky but also when its raining and foggy… it just gives you such a different feel of the city. Love it
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If i would name someone that have contributed to what i have accomplished so far, that person would be my wife, because the persistent feeling of moving forward will always comes from her.
But i will also say that the constant search for happiness has also have a big part of my life because it moves you forward and pushes you to a level of development and new strategies to face the day by day.
