We had the good fortune of connecting with Marveliz Polanco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marveliz, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?

When it comes to your career or business, you always have the choice to give up or keep going. The people that stay the course of their visions are those who truly believe in themselves, and have unwavering faith that they will be successful no matter what.

The journey of starting a business or even growing within a career has a lot of challenges and roadblock, but it’s about growing through the challenges and walking with the fear instead of running away from it. For me, it’s been a journey of many tears, challenges and growth, but the reward and the person I have become has taught me that everything that happens during the journey of success is for a reason.

I think adaptability and being coachable allows you to learn and collaborate with people who will lead you to the next chapter in your life. If you continually act like you know it all -even when it comes to your expertise- you miss the lessons that help your evolution.

Embodying the mentality that giving up is not an option, and accepting that the journey of success will look different than what you expected, will allow you to keep going.

Faith is one of the most important tools of success, because if you believe it’s possible then it will be – no matter how long it takes.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

As a confidence and mindset empowerment coach who transitioned from a career in HR, I have cultivated a unique approach to coaching that sets me apart from others in the field. My business is founded on the belief that everyone has the potential to achieve their goals and live their best life. I am passionate about helping my clients unlock that potential.

What sets me apart from others is my ability to tailor my coaching approach to meet the specific needs and goals of each individual client. I take a holistic approach, combining techniques from neuroscience, energetics, subconscious reprogramming, and spirituality to create a powerful and transformative coaching experience. I am most proud of the positive impact my coaching has had on my clients’ lives. Seeing my clients transform their confidence and mindset, overcome obstacles, and achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding.

Getting to where I am today in my business was not easy. I faced many challenges along the way including: doubts about my ability to succeed as a coach, financial struggles, a steep learning curve towards marketing and growing my business, many sleepless nights, and fear of getting advice from the wrong people. However, I overcame these challenges by staying true to my passion and purpose, seeking out mentorship and support from other successful coaches, and continuously investing in my own personal and professional growth. I became my first client, coaching myself during the times where I wanted to give up. This is how practicing my faith lead me to where I am today.

What I aim to teach through my brand is that the life we want is created. With discipline, mindset work and accountability you can have all that you desire, because everything that you desire is already within you. I became a coach because we aren’t given a road map to success but you don’t have to go through the journey alone.

My brand and story are a testament to the power of resilience, determination, and a growth mindset, and I am very excited to continue making a positive impact in the world through my work as a confidence and mindset empowerment coach.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I love this question but as a transplant from NYC, I’m not sure if Miamians would agree lol.

I am a beach person so definitely visit the beach a few days during that week. We would hit South Point and drink a few drinks, go for a swim and lay in the sun. Also love sunset bike rides, sunset kayaks, and boat rides on the weekend.

For food, Cubano’s are a must. I take my friends to Enriqueta’s and Sanguich. To me, Enriqueta’s is my favorite (do not come at me…lol). Also love Mandolin Agean Bistro and walking around the design district for inspiration. I am also a great cook so some of the meals would be cooked at home. Cooking is my love language <3

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

This is a great question!

My shout out is to my parents!! They have shown me the meaning of hard work, dedication, empathy and love. They have always supported me and believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. They migrated to this country and gave my siblings and I the best life anyone could ever ask for. I am blessed to say I chose the best parents and although they aren’t perfect, their unconditional love has helped me become the woman I am today.

I also need to shoutout some books! I love self-help books, but the one that allows me to go deeper within myself is “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. I try to read this gem of a book every year, and every year it speaks to me in a different way. One of the lessons that I carry from this book is that there are good omens placed in our path guiding us through life.
