We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Estefan Casais and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Whenever I am asked what my WHY is, my answer is usually my kids! I have a 10 year old daughter and an 8 year old son. My background is in accounting. I have a bachelor’s in accounting, masters in the science of taxation and my CPA all of which were attained by the age of 23 (I am currently 37). I have worked in the tax industry since that age. A few years ago though, I decided to broaden my horizons and attain my real estate license. Although I have always worked with the accounting and numbers end of what you learn with an accounting degree, I have always liked the creativity of the marketing side and I liked the challenge of working in sales. I also love that a home is more than just a structure. Home is where memories are made and where we build our lives with our families. Home is where we host friends and have good times. One of the reasons I got into real estate was to show my kids that you can make a living doing something you love and using your different talents and creativity.
When I studied for and passed my exam, I was a working mom of 2 kids in competitive activities (I am a dance mom and a baseball mom) so finding the time to study was not easy. I realized I was setting a good example for my kids as far as time management goes and it was also a good experience to see mom being the one to study for and pass an exam. I can do hard things and so can they!
You need thick skin to practice Real Estate. There are so many highs, and so many lows. I hope to show my kids to always keep going and persevere even when things are tough! My kids have seen me working hard trying to balance two careers while still being very involved in their lives and their activities. I am always proud to be invited to the volunteer appreciation Mass at their school! They have seen me work evenings and weekends to show homes, host open houses, and go to showing appointments. They have also seen me get out of my comfort zone and do things like go door knocking to generate business or post videos of myself on social media sharing real estate tips.
I hope I am showing them the way to working hard, being successful doing something you love, getting creative and out of your comfort zone and never giving up!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe what sets me apart is that most real estate agents are not going to have an accounting background. I know how to read a closing statement better than most real estate agents do and I know how each line item affects my clients. Additionally, I am actually qualified to give tax advice on real estate transactions. I know how the sale of a home or investment property will affect my client’s tax returns and I am familiar with more complex issues such as FIRPTA transactions. Apart from this, I go above and beyond for my clients. I have never asked a client to show a property for me. I will be there or someone from my team will. My client’s best interest always comes first.
I also started my real estate career as a working mom of two which is not something I think many would do. I find that I take on challenges most people won’t. I am always proud to say that I have run a full marathon. I am a big advocate for fitness because I feel it has taught me so much that I can apply to other areas of my life. You need to show up even when you don’t want to and discipline and consistency is what will get you results.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would need to say my husband Peter. He has always been supportive of me venturing into different things. Especially being a working mom of two I could not have passed my real estate exam or started building my real estate business without his support. Real Estate can be tough. You need to get uncomfortable and put yourself out there in order to generate business. He has always been there to push me to keep going when things get hard.
