We had the good fortune of connecting with Abby Mosher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abby, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Due to my own personal tragedy, I realized that there were no children’s grief centers in our community. I founded Tomorrow’s Rainbow to fill this gap and to ensure that children who had experienced the tragic death of a loved one would have a safe place to feel supported and understood.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Tomorrow’s Rainbow apart is how it evolved organically. Just as grief is never finished, neither is the growth and evolution of the Tomorrow’s Rainbow program. We started providing bereavement support for children ages 6 to 12 in October 2005. Now, we work with children ages 3 to 18, their caregivers, and we also offer individual Equine Assisted Psychotherapy for children who have experienced trauma in addition to their grief – all free of charge. The true driving force of our services is that we integrate the therapeutic benefits of horses into our programs. That combined with our outdoor setting on a truly special mini-ranch is what sets us apart.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Getting to live and work on a mini-ranch makes my own back yard my favorite spot. Spending time with the Tomorrow’s Rainbow herd of 13 horses, big and small, along with the 5 goats and pig is always on the top of my list. I also love watching the sunrise at the beach, going to Lion Country Safari, and boating in the Everglades to watch the alligators. For food and drinks…my favorite places are Runyons and  Tavolino Della Notte in Coral Springs, but any place on the water will do, too!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The tens of thousands of grieving children in our community deserve a shoutout for their courage, patience, and trust so that Tomorrow’s Rainbow could become an oasis for healing over the past 17 years.
