We had the good fortune of connecting with Abigail Beebe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Abigail, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in the Midwest, Iowa and moved to Florida with my family when I was 7 years old. My parents were both teachers by education and my parents taught by example that working hard pays off. Their message: “You have to put in the time or else you cannot expect things to fall into your lap. You have to want it bad enough to do whatever it takes.” The impact my upbringing had on who I am today is most clearly visible in my unwavering desire “to save the world” regardless of my crystal clear knowledge that I cannot.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Sure, I own the Law Office of Abigail Beebe, P.A. in West Palm Beach, Florida. We specialize in marital and family law, which means divorce primarily, but we do handle alimony, asset division and equitable distribution, parenting, paternity, separation, supportive relations, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and post judgement matters.
Our firm is focused on not only on protecting our clients and his or her assets, but also providing comfort and sanctuary during stressful, challenging times. By developing deep personal connections with our clients, we are able to assess their unique needs and help steer them toward the most positive outcomes. This approach ensures that our clients understand the full legal, financial and emotional scope of every decision they make.
I am most proud that I have created an office that I love and love coming into each and every day. I try to treat everyone who works with me with the utmost respect and show them in my own ways, little or big, that they are important to me. What we do in this business is hard, and our clients need us. As a result, we must not treat them like a contract or entity, but rather as individuals going through, what is often, the most difficult time in their lives. We offer our clients compassion, understanding and “good listening ears.” Be it advocate, counselor, therapist or simply an empathetic ear, the Law Office of Abigail Beebe fills that role – and more – for each of our clients.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s an easy answer when you live in South Florida! I would start off by spending at least two days at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. The pool there allows you to feel like you are on vacation regardless how far you are traveling from. I’d recommend sipping skinny pina coladas and lounging in a gorgeous pool cabana, before hitting the Seafood Bar at the hotel for an early dinner of crab nachos and lobster fried rice. Finally, we would grab a massage at the Breakers Hotel Spa and pop over to C Oricco in Palm Beach for some shopping (the Orrico sisters have been in this location for 35 years and they are both wonderful and dear friends. I personally love their sweaters, golf attire and they carry both OTG24-7 and Josephine Alexander Collective, both lines created by close girlfriends. I would make sure to hit ER Bradley’s Saloon, located on the Intracoastal Waterway, for some good music, outdoor eating, cocktails and music. (I worked there in college and love the owner/family; I also met my husband there!) Finally, I would probably (ABSENT COVID-19) take the Brightline to Miami for a Heat game or see a show at the Kravis Center.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
That list would be long. Some of my favorites though are: My old firm, Tom Sasser, Don Sasser and Jorge Cestero, for giving me an opportunity. My husband, Hampton, for putting up with my chaos. The Law Office of Abigail Beebe, including Dunia, Aurora, Kristin, Crystal, and Gabrielle. And last but not least: Amy Hickman and Melinda Gamot, two amazing female powerhouse attorneys and tremendous mentors, who have always taken my calls and supported me.
