We had the good fortune of connecting with Abigail Tuano` and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abigail, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most success to my brand is the meaning behind it. Purity MVMNT Collection was birthed out through prayer. I was 16 years old when I had this encounter and I was at church when it happened. The preacher that was preaching made a call for everyone in the room to make a call for “holiness” that God would keep us “set apart for Him” and live a life of purity. I remember making that promise to God at 16 and everything I did remained until I am here at 27. Purity MVMNT is more than a clothing line it’s a movement. I remember when God spoke to me and told me I would start a clothing business I had no idea I was doing. All I remembered was that I wanted to start a movement, a culture to brand purity as something “cool” but not the basic “Jesus Loves You” T-Shirts or something basic but something that was modern and didn’t look too “religious” that anyone could wear it and be part of the movement. The meaning behind purity mvmnt is to remain pure in God and remain Holy but to be able to rock some cool sweaters and t-shirts at the same time.

So the most important factor behind my business is really putting God first because without Him, Purity MVMNT would’ve never made it.

What should our readers know about your business?
Purity MVMNT is a brand that represents purity. It is funny because the question that you asked was what “sets you apart from others” and one of our trademarks is “set apart.” We are called to be set apart and not like everyone else and I think that is what makes Purity MVMNT different. It isn’t just logos or phrases I said from my YouTube channel but they’re phrases with a meaning. They’re phrases with a purpose. When people wear our set apart hoodies they know they are set apart to be one with God. When people wear the marked t-shirt and sweaters they know they are marked for revival and marked for something different in their lives.

I believe starting a business is not easy. I believe it takes a lot of hustle and a lot of sleepless nights but at the end of the day it is worth it because it’s a passion. I remember people not believing in me because I was young but despite of what other people say I wanted to make a difference with my brand. I also didn’t want people to know that I made it at first because I wanted it to be its own company (it’s own brand.)

I am excited for what’s next for purity mvmnt for it to really make a difference in people’s lives and for more projects of what’s in store.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Miami so I know the saying is “I live where you vacation” is what I would tell you in a nutshell. I would take my best friend to the beach, Wynwood and some of the best brunch places so we can play dress up.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The person that deserves recognition with Purity Mvmnt Collection is Valentina Garcia. I remember attending one of her workshops that really motivated me and to push to me to do my own business while working a 9-5 job. I saw her push herself to her limitations and I realized I wanted to do that as well, She also helped me with the website and the good brands so my quality would be the best with the clothing line.
