We had the good fortune of connecting with Adonis Lugo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adonis, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success as a photojournalist, is my ability to tell powerful stories through visuals. This involves not only technical proficiency with camera equipment and a keen eye for detail, but also excellent collaboration with my team and strong communication with my producers. By working closely with fellow team members and maintaining clear, consistent dialogue with producers, I ensure that the stories we capture are compelling, accurate, and effectively aligned with our overall vision. These combined skills enable me to create impactful narratives that resonate deeply with the audience.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career as a photojournalist has spanned over a decade, and the path to where I am today has been far from easy. I faced numerous challenges, from losing my job in 2018 to dealing with hardships during the pandemic. However, with my wife’s steadfast support and my commitment to pursuing a greater purpose, I was able to overcome these obstacles. This resilience has ultimately led to new opportunities and a brighter future.

What I believe sets me apart is my sincere passion for my work. Every assignment, no matter how challenging, is an opportunity to produce impactful footage that both informs and deeply resonates with the audience. I hold profound respect for those I collaborate with, and I believe that the strength of my personal & professional relationships has not only brought me immense joy but also paved the way for my success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Miami nightlife is always fun but it defiantly gets crowded. In my view, Daer Nightclub is the place to be if you are looking for a fun night in South Florida. We just saw 50 Cent perform a few weeks ago and it was for sure an unforgettable night. Not to mention the Hard Rock always has something new going on.

During the week, I would also say to hit up some local taco spots for taco Tuesday. You will defiantly see me trying a new place almost every week searching for the new taco spot.

I want to give a huge shout out to my incredible team members and producers I work with on a daily basis—your hard work, creativity, and collaboration are vital to our success. A special thanks to my wife Amanda, whose unwavering support and encouragement makes everything possible. You will always be my inspiration.
