We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrianna Raphaela and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrianna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
My creativity and authenticity are like my superpower, they allow me to see things that others can’t. It instinctively draws me to what is fresh, new, and hot. It gives me the confidence to listen to that internal voice about my creative direction. Both my creativity and authenticity allow me to show the world as I see it. They allow me to make a statement with every look I create whether it’s in the pattern, fabric, detail, fit, or accessories.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Tres Angeles Swim is a piece of me. I create what I love and what represents me. I love and embrace my body and feel that swimwear should reflect that. As a true Florida girl, I feel sexiest in a swimsuit. My collection features looks that capture the “Miami beach” vibe. I embody a classic style with a bold approach that’s expressed with rich color combinations, playful patterns, and distinct details. My goal is to highlight the best parts of you without sacrificing comfort, style or quality. Tres Angeles Swim is a unisex swim hub that provides swimwear, cover ups, and accessories. I am most proud of the experiences I can share through the looks I create.

My clear vision, and extensive planning play a major role in where I am today. My vision provides me with direction while planning allows me to bring my vision to life. Sticking to my vision holds me accountable and forces me to be consistent. In addition, careful planning prevents common pitfalls and ensures that I stay on track. This journey has been far from easy, but it is worth it. I overcome challenges by coming up with creative solutions to my problems. When I don’t know how to do something I am always willing to be a student of the game.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that building a business is a lot of work and I cannot do this alone. Rome was not built in a day, and it certainly wasn’t built by one person. Another valuable lesson I’ve learned is patience. Patience is a necessary part of business. Understanding my audience and their needs takes time. Learning how to operate as a businesswoman takes time. The creative process also takes time. When I began to practice patience, things moved much smoother

I want the world to know that there is no linear path to success. There will be ups and downs, but the key is to never stop doing what you really want to do. Where there is hard work and dedication you can’t go wrong. I hope my story inspires someone out there to take a risk on themselves.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite places to bring friends for dining are Dunkunoo Jamaican Kitchen in Wynwood, Red Rooster, Manta, Prohibition& Speakeasy, Kyu for the best coconut cake on Earth. For fun, there’s the Botanical gardens, the design district, Wynwood walls, Velvet Velour, paddle boarding, snorkeling, jet-skiing, and museum hopping (Superblue Miami, Rubell Museum, Pérez Art Museum, Vizcaya Museum). Last but not least my favorite place to go dancing all night long is Brick.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I give a huge shoutout to my mother and my support group of friends. She’s my biggest supporter even when she doesn’t understand my choices. In addition to keeping me accountable, she’s always there to listen when I’m down or frustrated. She’s the definition of the wind beneath my wings. Also, I would love to shout out a book I received as a gift from a friend “The Play Don’t Care Who Make it”. It is a book of affirmations for creatives and stories from those in the field. It’s one of those books that remind me I am never alone when dealing with the growing pains of a new business owner.
