We had the good fortune of connecting with Ainose Aisabu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ainose, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Growing up, I woke up to the sound of music every morning in my early years. My dad unawares, had developed my music skills in a subconscious level.
Advancing forward in my career, I discovered that there was more to music. Seeing that the world we live in is a collection of art itself, I wanted to be more than a musician, more than the average songwriter.
I yeilded myself more to how my music can positively affect people, by helping them find purpose through life, and bringing meaning into their own lives through creative art.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have unreserved love for music, and I mean good music at that. I’m really excited about this because, it’s one thing I do effortlessly. I play the piano and the drums. I have been able to raise pianists and drummers over the years. I did the work of a choir director for my church for at least fifteen years.
In my early years of learning, it wasn’t really easy. The encouragement and support as expected was low. Access to learning these stuffs wasn’t readily available. I’ve had someone tell me “you cannot..”, but well? The story is different now because I didn’t give. I maintained the pictures of how I saw myself and where I was headed.
If you’re diligent long enough in what ever you do, there will always come a time of opportunity for you to be heard or given audience. I am as a light shinning in a dark world or environment. My work gives hope to the hopeless, and brings the love of God to all men. That’s what I do with my music.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh.. I would take them to the studio to see some of my works and for maybe a session if possible. And then we’ll definitely visit the zoo(Ogba zoo) here in my city. Also, we’ll visit the McCarthy beach, it’s an artificial beach in a neighbouring city, and also visit water parks. We’ll hangout to chill, eat and drink at Kilimanjaro restaurant.
Oh, people who truly have encountered the love of God are the most fun to be with. You’re strengthened around them. They help shine and emerge as the best of you.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shout out goes first to JESUS. He’s been the source of ALL I am and all I can do.
Also, my family has been a huge support too, my Church and my pastor also have been there, I really appreciate them. My mentor and coach, David .L. Edwards has impacted my life in no small way. His wife Dorcas Edwards gave me a breakthrough in one of my struggles musically. I’m eternally grateful to them.
