We had the good fortune of connecting with Alberto de la Portilla and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alberto, how do you think about risk?
Risk is part of everyday life. It’s all around us. Trying to eliminate risk completely from life is a futile effort. You have to learn how best to manage it. Taking risks brings out the best in us, challenges us to figure out solutions on how to manage it while pursuing what we want, whether it’s to scale a mountain or double your business’ profits in a short period of time. No successful person has achieved success without taking risks. I like being at the center of that. In my own life, I am adventurous. For example, when we travel to remote places and walk areas we probably shouldn’t walk. I have taken risks in my life and they have proven impactful. I feel that has given me a strength and a confidence that I can draw from when I need it. I channel that towards my business and our clients.

What should our readers know about your business?
At Integro Advisers, we believe that the way to do business is by committing to doing things right. We are a leading compliance and risk management firm, offering high-end professional services, including regulatory compliance advisory, risk assessments, and due diligence investigations.

We help clients collect, analyze, and take action on the right information to facilitate making the right business, financial, and legal decisions that are risk-tolerant, guided by industry best practices and common-sense strategies, and compliant with applicable regulatory expectations.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a fan of public parks and community-gathering spaces. I would take them to places that are near and dear to my heart as a native Miamian – Domino Park, Kennedy Park, Margaret Pace Park, Haulover Pier, and South Point.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
