We had the good fortune of connecting with Alejandra Daguerre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alejandra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I am a psychologist, a profession I love and would undoubtedly choose again.

After several years practicing clinical psychology and working closely with patients, I began writing about different and simpler ways to understand the impact of psychology and emotions in our daily lives—not as something distant that we only find in scientific essays, but as an integral part of who we are.

This is how my first book, “Los cuentos que yo me cuento”, was born—a collection of short stories for teenagers and adults, where each narrative invites us to reflect on ourselves and how we respond to life’s situations.

And in November 2024, I presented my latest work, “Mother Courage”, in Miami. This book is especially meaningful to me because it explores a different and profoundly demanding experience of motherhood—the journey of raising a child with a disability, embracing and accepting their uniqueness every day.

Connecting with these mothers around the world, offering them words of support in their immense task, and honoring their daily dedication is what inspires and drives my professional path today.

Mental health is a fundamental part of our overall well-being; it is one of the essential pillars of our health. Understanding it, recognizing its reach, and taking care of it are the foundations of a fulfilling life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was born in a small town where I completed my elementary and high school education. To attend university, I had to move to Buenos Aires, which is 700km away. That moment was a huge leap in my life.

It wasn’t just about leaving my family; it was about facing a major life change. It meant transitioning from high school and leaving adolescence behind to enter university life, surrounded by a new community of people. It meant leaving the comfort of a small town where everything was close by to live in a big city that never sleeps—where the pace, the transportation systems and the challenges are different.

Those decisions forced me to grow-up. Leaving everything familiar behind and stepping into the unknown was an adventure in itself.

Over time, I graduated and made Buenos Aires my home.

I quite enjoy my work as a psychologist, but recently I decided to step out of the intimacy of my practice—where it’s just the psychologist and the patient—to stand before an audience at conferences, host a segment on TV for thousands of viewers, and write books, presenting them around the world.

These are incredible professional challenges that also confront me with a recurring dilemma: Do I stay within the familiar, repeating what I already know, or do I take the plunge down life’s slide and embrace the unknown?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Buenos Aires and love exploring the city, whether during the day or under the magic of the porteña night. I especially enjoy walking through the streets of San Telmo, dining in an old neighborhood almacén, and immersing myself in the rhythm of the city’s oldest district, where history lingers to the sound of tango.

Visiting Boca Juniors’ stadium is an experience like no other—feeling the pulse of a crowd that sings with passion, a stadium that beats like a heart. And after the match, celebrating with a slice of pizza among strangers who, simply by wearing the club’s jersey, already feel like family.

I also love strolling through Palermo at night, a bohemian neighborhood bursting with nightlife, where the new meets the creative, the local blends with the foreign, and youthful energy merges with a more mature vibe.

I love discovering my city—finding new places, seeing both renowned and emerging bands, and, on some nights, transforming into a sophisticated lady to attend a gala at the Teatro Colón.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m passionate, and I thrive on feeling fulfilled in what I do.

I have a sensitive spirit and find joy in the simplest things, which at the same time fill me with emotion: I love watching sunsets, spending time with my family, having a cup of coffee while chatting with friends, listening to music, cooking, and discovering new places.

I find magic in simplicity. Some days, when I get home, I just stand on my balcony, looking out at the city, wondering how many stories lie behind each building, each house, each person.
