Meet Alejandro Torres | Visual Media Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alejandro Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alejandro, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Growing up i was always a very creative person. i indulged in many different art forms from drawing, graffiti, to 3D modeling, concept art and finally photography and videography. I was always pushed more into concept art and photography and for a while i focused on concept art cause it was cheaper. what i liked the most about my art was composition, being able to tell there is a story behind every frame, being able to feel emotions based on an image. that became important to me and being able to do that through my stills was such a unique way to show people’s stories in a different light. i find people and this world to be so interesting, so beautiful, for an image to make others feel emotions and connect to something i made, and share their point of view even if its different from what i was trying to convey is such a fun way to connect with others and just feel and discuss together, it brings us and the world together in a way, and that in itself is poetic.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For me, this ‘job’ isn’t about fame or legacy, it’s about passion, art, and people. I don’t seek recognition; I care about the stories I capture through my lens. I want people to see themselves in a new light, to feel something real and connect with the images. A photo isn’t just a still moment, it’s an experience I want to share with others.
The journey hasn’t been easy. Starting out in photography meant facing steep learning curves and financial challenges. I couldn’t afford the best gear, so I poured myself into research, days and nights of studying techniques, testing affordable options, and refining my craft through trial and error. It’s taken years of dedication to get to where I am, and I’m still learning every day.
What sets me apart is that I’m okay with the process. I’ve learned to be patient, to not compare myself to others who might have more resources or experience. I focus on my growth, my art, and the joy it brings to others. For me, that’s what this work is all about.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d definitely take them to Bar Kaiju for their really unique cocktails, they’re all monster inspired and Godzilla is EVERYWHERE it’s fantastic. Then, we’d hit up Glitch and Tenth Level Tavern, two awesome video game bars with tons of games to play, especially retro stuff. Tate’s and Cyren are both great stops for unique comic and anime finds. Finally, the Frost Art and Science Museums are a must-see, they have incredible art galleries and a crazy huge aquarium.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
For one, there’s always been many family and friends that have supported me over the years. Either helping me financially, guiding me, motivating me, or inspiring me to push through and not give up. all these people have given me so much and i cant thank them enough. But mentorship wise, and lately for showing me so much continued support, id have to give my shout out to ROK Esports Lounge. Specifically their head of Production Cjay who has taught me so much more on the technical sides of all i do and let me experiment with him there. they are an amazing e-sports lounge doing all kinds of events for gamers and the community. and considering the gaming community has a special place in my heart i especially love to work with them for all their events. They help bring our community together and for them being a fairly new business i am excited to see where else they go.
