Meet Theodora Oatmeyer | Founder of KEFI PR

We had the good fortune of connecting with Theodora Oatmeyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Theodora, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and from a young age, I knew I wanted to build something entirely my own, growing up deeply involved in theatre shaped my creative thinking and taught me the power of storytelling long before I ever stepped into the world of PR. That background, combined with my freelance experience in PR and social media for hospitality clients, gave me a strong foundation and a unique perspective on how to build authentic narratives that truly resonate with an audience.

When I launched KEFI PR, I saw a genuine demand specifically in Boca Raton. It was such a rapidly growing city, and watching it evolve and bloom into what it is today made it the perfect place to plant roots and build something meaningful. I was drawn to the idea of creating more than just an agency — I wanted to build a lifestyle and a brand that people could truly connect with, because I never wanted our services to feel purely transactional.

Starting KEFI PR was ultimately about channeling all of those experiences into something that makes a lasting, human impact for the clients we serve and the community we’re proud to be a part of.Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
KEFI (pronounced KEH-FEE) is actually a Greek word meaning the spirit of joy, and that energy is truly at the heart of everything we do. KEFI PR is a full-service public relations agency based in South Florida, specializing in Social Media, Public Relations, and Experiential Activations. We work with both local and national clients, bringing a creative, results-driven approach to every partnership. Our team is passionate about crafting campaigns that not only tell a brand’s story but also drive real, measurable results that matter.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a Boca local and self-proclaimed foodie, I have a go-to itinerary that I love sharing with anyone lucky enough to visit. We’d start the morning catching the sunrise at Palmetto Beach, it’s truly one of the most peaceful and beautiful ways to begin the day, followed by lattes and creative seasonal drinks at VI Coffee Bar, where the menu is always something worth exploring.

To stay active, I’d plan a workout at  FOCUS or Johnny O’s, then wind down with a scenic bike ride along the water or a leisurely stroll through Mizner Park or Uptown Boca.

For dinner, Boca has incredible options—Houston’s and El Camino are longtime favorites. If we’re up for a short drive to Delray, Gabriella’s Modern Italian is an absolute must. We’d end the evening with a sunset walk through Mizner Park or a film at IPIC Theater.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Besides God, whom I credit first and foremost for every blessing and opportunity in my life, I am deeply grateful to my family—my parents, sister, and brother—whose unwavering support has been the foundation of everything I’ve built. They have cheered me on through every challenge and every milestone, and I would not be where I am today without them. I’m also incredibly thankful to the clients who have trusted KEFI PR with their brands and their stories from the very beginning. Our team deserves enormous recognition as well- their creativity, dedication, and passion are what bring our work to life every single day.

Lastly, I’m grateful to the South Florida community for embracing us and allowing us to grow alongside such an inspiring and vibrant business landscape.
