We had the good fortune of connecting with Alessandra Ochoa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alessandra, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
“Fake it ‘til you make it”. If you have passion for what you are doing there’s no need to fake it. Besides, who likes fake?

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have many arts. I’m a yogi. I dance for a contemporary dance company that strongly supports and women empowerment. I am a small business owner, making organic products for your body and your house. My product line started with one product, natural deodorant. Being a dancer I needed something that worked, but it needed to be ORGANIC. Like actually organic, not like the brands (which was few at the time) claimed to be. Falling in love with the chosen ingredients and the effects I started pondering “what else can I make”. And from there it was having friends be my testers. From there, selling at farmers markets and small events. It just continued to grow in such an organic way. I want people to know that everything we need to live, to feel clean, to survive exists in nature and that my products are living proof of that. Even the packaging is recyclable, reusable, or compostable.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I was born b raised in Miami. The beach is always my go to for relaxation and connecting with nature. But not South Beach! I prefer North Beach or even Ft.Lauderdale beach. If you’re visiting Miami you definitely have to check out Calle Ochoa. There’s an amazing ice cream shop there called “Azucar”. Wynwood is cool to walk around during the day. Fairchild Botanical Garden is gorgeous!!! And the drive down Old Cutler is beautiful.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother definitely is the reason I try so hard and stay motivated. Seeing her struggles made me not want to grow up knowing those same struggles. I thank my friends for pushing me to stay focused on my small business (As Nature Intended). It’s easy to give up, they remind me why I love making these products so much.
