We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Martucci and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
I believe that any business, especially a digital one from a software perspective, has more complexities than people might think. When you build software, whether it’s for optimizing a solution or revolutionizing a specific area, there are incredible numbers of people involved, factors to take into account, and variables to consider. If you look at technology from the outside, everything appears to be done in a blink of an eye or with the help of AI. In reality, you need to follow a solid process with pillars that help you navigate through the development process. Additionally, any technological product, specifically software, requires constant updates. This is a factor that is often misunderstood by customers. It is necessary to keep everything up to date and in sync because technology advances faster than we think!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I opened my first digital agency in 2014, and since then, we have expanded into multiple markets, including Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. In 2021, I started a new company called Ymarinas, thanks to the digital agency, which helped me discover the maritime world. Ymarinas is a leisure maritime booking app for yacht owners, captains, and ports to reserve and pay for their mooring, fuel, and services.
Developing from a digital agency to a software company with one specific product is not an easy process, as all the dynamics around your reality change. That’s why it was essential to preserve the digital agency and create a new ecosystem of companies that are now aiming to achieve new heights. I am still learning lessons every day, as the constant development of a new ecosystem is like life – things change, and it’s crucial to keep up with those changes.
I would like the world to know that Ymarinas is coming to revolutionize and digitalize the leisure maritime industry for real. Our aim is to help the entire industry stay up to date with IoT, artificial intelligence, and all the new super tools. It’s no longer a dream – it’s a reality that can help everyone.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a big fan of Bal Harbor and Bay Harbor. In the morning, I leave my hotel on Bay Harbor Island to go for a run to Bal Harbor along the ocean. Afterwards, I enjoy a morning espresso at Pura Vida before heading to a meeting at Brickell. For a quick lunch, I go to Pinocchio on the Bay, located in the Omni area. I have more meetings with some good entrepreneurs at Keystone Island and then quickly refresh at the hotel. Of course, dinner is a must at the classic The Palm at Bay Harbor before heading back to the hotel. The next day, I can easily catch a flight as I am arriving from Miami North.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We definitely have multiple people that deserve a mention, my family, my brother and his family. My closest team. Alessandra, Alessio, Cristian, Carlo, Gabriele and all the people that are supporting my journey on a daily basis from suppliers and collaborators.
