We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandria McMillian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexandria, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Before I make any risk I make sure my kids and dog Nala will be as happy and stable as possible. I prefer a more calculated risk. I don’t recommend just jumping into something without having a few systems and resources in place to keep you from being stressed out unnecessarily. That stress alone hinders a lot. So make sure your basic needs are good. And then I say go for it!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love music, film, and art of all mediums (I’ve recently come across some NFTs that are out of this world) Im big on storytelling. So I try my best to incorporate all of that in my Vlogs and Music. I think what attracts me most is how limitless the possibilities are. Like, regardless of what the rules say I can make whatever I want and if I like it and I’m confident in that BOOM magic. I learned that you have to be patient and gentle with yourself. I practice this by being grateful for where I am and focusing on completing the vision the best I can with what I have. It’s not always easy because it requires a lot of work and you really have to trust the process and believe in yourself to stay in that headspace. Just stay committed though.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m so bad at this lol my friends usually drag me around and I just go where ever all I know is Cuban food,Jamaican food, drinks, and get your butt to somebodies condo so you can see the port of Miami,
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give my entire network of friends and family the biggest thanks ever. They have listened to my crazy ideas helped through all of my creative phases, they’ve invested in me and have supported me so much! And I wouldn’t be able to pick myself up and try everyday without them. I LOVE YALL!! (Mom, Gma, Gpa, cholea, jasmine, Tatiana, Ollise, Courtney, Amya, Audra, and Auntie Brenda)
