We had the good fortune of connecting with Roxana Rooney and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Roxana, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My passion is helping clients tell their stories in ways that resonate with their audiences. While I’ve loved working both in an agency setting and in-house, I always felt that something was missing. There’s something so empowering about working for yourself, dictating your own future and success while working with brands you’re truly passionate about. Since moving to West Palm Beach, I’ve been able to build long-standing relationships with those in the community, which led to the courage to go off on my own and build the business I’ve always dreamt of.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Starting a business is never easy. For me, the hardest part was getting past the initial fears of going off on my own. Was I good enough? Could I really do this? And of course, I could. With the support of those around me, I was able to look past those doubts and move forward with getting our first client. Then our second. And so on! One of the lessons I’ve learned comes from one of my favorite quotes: “Until you work as hard as those you admire, don’t explain their success as luck.” Only great things come from hard work and the determination to get things done. Honey Communications is a creative boutique public relations and social media marketing firm. We tell stories that stick. We want our clients to know that we will continually strive to find ways to promote their brands in ways that are savvy, out-of-the-box and unique to them. There’s so much that goes into what we do at Honey–it’s more than just a pretty picture or a witty caption. Our goal is to help our clients elevate their presence and reach by creating messaging with a long-term strategy.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Katherine Lande is truly one of the most incredible women I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I have learned so much from her through the years. She is so passionate about her work and supporting the community around her. The encouragement she has given me on this journey has truly helped shaped the business woman I am today.
