We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexia Padron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexia, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I went from working in the hospital doing 12 hour shifts three times a week, to owning my own business and working for myself 7 days a week. When I worked in the hospital, my “off” days were completely off. no calls, or texts about work. Now that I own a business I am learning to balance basically working 7 days a week. I never really disconnect completely because there’s always some sort of work text or call coming in. I have more flexibility with my schedule, but work just as much or even more now.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Alexia Padron, and I own Bella Pelle Aesthetics. since I was a little girl I always loved beauty. Always asking to go to get my hair done, my nails. at the age of 15 I began shadowing a dermatologist because I knew dermatology is where I wanted to end up. As I grew up I fell more and more in love with the aesthetics branch, and decided that’s what I wanted to focus on. I graduated with my masters in Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Miami and set out to London for training in aesthetics. When I returned I began job searching here in miami. Nobody wants you unless you have experience. A family friend who is a dentist offered to be my medical director and to use their office to begin gaining experience to have on my resume. Through that office I ordered product and began injectables. That is when Bella Pelle Aesthetics was born. I needed my own account and EIN to order products ETC. Never did I plan on growing the LLC. I was just using it to order product. I went door knocking leaving resumes everywhere a few months later after I had been injecting in the dentist office to show I had some experience. Julie Terrero, the owner of Beautiful me Skin boutique ended up asking me to come in for an interview. She asked if she could bring me in as a business, I rent the room and she has injectibles to offer to her patients located in her spa. Never did I want a business but God has his own plans. I took the job, and since have been guided by her on building my business, I am still learning every single day and I’m loving it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Coconut Grove is like my second home. I love that its all dog friendly and a chill outdoorsy vibe. Bayshore is adorable and nice to sit outside and brunch or get drinks. Key club is delicious for dinner, they have the best roll I’ve ever had called the surf and turf roll. you can’t skip put on sale and straw ice cream which includes vegan options. for a fun night out cabana rooftop in coral gables is cute then av=cross the street “The Bar” is a locals original that never gets old. Lucca Osteria has my heart when it comes down to what to eat if its not going to be sushi, because im obsessed with sushi.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would give a shoutout to my family and friends for always supporting me and being patient with my schedule As I’ve always been either studying, or even now building a business. Julie Terrero for taking me under her wing and giving me the opportunity to build a business with her backing me and guiding me. Raquel Bernal for taking me under her wing since day one that I rotated with her in Nurse practitioner school. She is always guiding me and giving me pointers not only as a practitioner but as a business owner as well. Yasniel Valdes and Melisa Troha for always guiding me in the aesthetics world with their extensive knowledge.
