We had the good fortune of connecting with Alicia Heard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alicia, what do you want people to remember about you?
The legacy I want to leave to my kids is to be patient and true to yourself and work hard no matter what. When I think about my legacy, it gives me the drive and determination to continue to work hard. I want my kids, friends, family, customers, and colleagues alike to remember me as a hard worker. All my life I have been driven to make the best of any opportunity or situation I have been awarded. I’ve always poured myself into everything that I touch and Tressed Beauty LLC is no different. I’ll continue to stay patient and build my brand by incorporating additional services for my clients and mastering the services I already offer. In the years to come, my legacy will speak it’s truth and my kids and grand kids will have a better life because of it!

What should our readers know about your business?
Tressed Beauty is a brand that caters to the beauty of an individual. Tressed Beauty prides ourselves on our exceptional customer service, efficient and neat styles and services, and our overall love for the industry. I am proud of the direction that Tressed Beauty is headed because we are being put in positions to be recognized nationally and that’s a blessing. We are excited to be working on our first product to launch Tressed Beauty’s Hair product line. This idea has been in the making for a while and I can’t wait to show you guys how amazing of a product it is! It hasn’t been easy up until this point and there has been many times I’ve wanted to quit; but my faith in myself, my brand, and my God wouldn’t allow myself to. I’ve learned to not worry about the next person’s success because you never know what it took for them to get there. Always speak positively of my goals and write them down and pray over them everyday, I want the world to know that Tressed Beauty is here to stay, Remember the name!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m such a homebody all I do is work, work, work!!!! But when I do get a chance to get out and explore the city I love to go to the beach! Being near the ocean is one of my favorite places to be. I love the peaceful and serene atmosphere. I love Hibachi so I would definitely eat somewhere like that.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have a couple people that I’ve watched from a far and learned from over the years on social media platforms. There are two though that really stand out because I’ve patronized their brands and respect their hustle! The first one is Tori Phillips with Stay Pretty and the second one is Ashley Bennett with Banks Hair Affair. I watched these women grind and build a brand from the ground up. I respect their grit and perseverance and have learned so much just from our little talks we have here and there. I’ve also taken classes from both these young women on different techniques to help better serve my clientele. I just want to say thank you for not being scared to reach down and bring a fellow entrepreneur in the same industry and give back! It’s all about women empowering women!!
