Meet Aliesha Gatling

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aliesha Gatling and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aliesha, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business helps both the community and the world through cute animations of Christian themed animals with the powers given to them by Jesus Christ. I have shown love to people that do not understand who Christ is as a person. Some people who claim to be Christians do not show the love of Christ and tend to be judgmental instead of loving. I love people despite their circumstances and troubles and because I love them, I will correct them using scriptures in my animations or they would inbox me asking me questions about Christ’s love for them. Some people are receptive to the love of Christ while others may mock me for being a strictly Christian based animator and content creator. I got the idea for Christian animals from Christ himself and ever since I obeyed, I have seen growth on my social media platforms. I plan to reach not only my community but the world as well. I want to show the love of Christ in the way I know best, through loving people and animating cute animals.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a 2D Animator and Illustration Artist. What sets me apart from others is that I put Christ in my animations of animals that can resonate with a person’s soul especially if they are struggling with something and the video pertains to them. I have brought at least three people to Christ from posting my animations on Instagram. I got where I am today professionally by going to school for about 5 years because I took a break in between. I learned how to animate along with graphic design, Typography, and more. It was not easy getting where I am today. I almost did not graduate from college because I was so stressed out from school. Luckily, I graduated with a 3.3 GPA before school and others like it shut down permanently. I overcame challenges by finishing what I started. I passed every test. I animated to the best of my ability. I would envy others’ art style thinking that they were better than me but most of them did not even get to graduate college or if they did, they could not find a job in their field. I learned that everyone’s process is different and even though I graduated late, I at least graduated and have my bachelor’s degree in fine arts. Not everyone I knew can say that for themselves. I want the world to know that my brand is strictly Christian based and based on what the Bible says Christians should be not what the world deems Christians to be. I am an ambassador of Christ, and I love what he loves and hate what he hates.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting the area and I wanted to show them the best time ever I would take them to either a sushi spot or a poke bowl spot. I love sushi, especially raw salmon. They have many different hotels in the area and many fun places to eat. I would show them the beach in Clearwater, take them to the movies at AMC, go skating, etc. My favorite places are sushi spots and eating out in general. They even have a pho spot that is close to my neighborhood. I would take my best friend somewhere to eat every day and we could go to the mall and buy clothes or go skating at night. We could go paint ceramics as well or do painting with a twist. There is so much to do that I cannot name them all, but I’m a fun person and I love to eat and hang out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I give a shout out to my mom, sister, and newfound friends at my church. I thank my mom, Lashaunda Saunders, for always motivating me to do my absolute best in every situation, causing me to be the overachiever that I am today. If it had not been for my mom, I would have given up on school even though I was highly intelligent. I thank my sister Chassity for being there for me when I wanted to do nothing with my life and give up on everything. Thank you, sister, for defending me from fake friends and believing in me when I did not believe in myself. To my church family, thank you for pushing me in the direction that I’m in today. Thank you to my beloved friend, the first friend I made at my new church, for accepting me as I was when most would consider me weird and strange. Thank you for saying I’m normal. I appreciate you, my friend. Because of you, I’m going places. You have taught me so much and you, my friend, are a light that shines in the darkness. Keep being you especially because you liked me for being myself. Thank you to my Pastor for teaching me how to grow up and develop myself mentally and spiritually. Thank you all. I love you for helping me in the many stages of my life.
