We had the good fortune of connecting with ALPHA H. FLEURIMOND and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ALPHA H., can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Before I opened my office, I considered six steps, and the following helped me decide. 1. Opportunity
• Problem Solving: Recognizing a gap in the market or a problem that your product or service can address.
• Passion: Building something around an area of personal interest or expertise.
2. Setting Goals
• Financial Independence: The desire to create a sustainable income stream.
• Flexibility: Gaining control over your time and work-life balance.
• Impact: Creating something that positively affects your community or industry.
3. Assessing Skills and Resources
• Strengths: Evaluating how your skills and experiences align with the business idea.
• Resources: Taking stock of financial, human, and intellectual capital available to start.
4. Evaluating Risks and Rewards
• Risk Analysis: Considering the uncertainties, like financial risk or time investment.
• Reward Potential: Weighing the satisfaction of being your own boss and potential for growth.
5. Planning
• Market Research: Understanding the target audience, competitors, and industry trends.
• Business Model: Deciding how to create, deliver, and capture value such as income tax, fingerprint, immigration and notary public.
6. Execution
• Starting Small: Testing ideas through prototypes or minimum viable products.
• Learning: Continuously adapting based on feedback and challenges.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What I’m Most Proud Of: I’m incredibly proud of the resilience I’ve developed and the trust I’ve built with my clients, church, and community. It’s rewarding to see how my work has positively impacted others and to witness the growth of something that started as an idea.
My journey:
Getting to where I am today was far from easy. There were moments of doubt, financial challenges, and times when I felt like giving up. But I constantly reminded myself of my “why.” Staying focused on my purpose and surrounding myself with supportive mentors and peers made all the difference. Most importantly, I stay away from toxic people.
How I Overcame Challenges:
Overcoming challenges meant learning to adapt and stay curious. I treated every setback as a lesson rather than a failure. As I have learned, you cannot have testimony without problems. Networking and seeking advice from those who had walked similar paths helped me navigate obstacles I couldn’t have tackled alone.
Lessons Learned:
The biggest lessons I’ve learned are:
• Patience and Persistence: Success doesn’t happen overnight, and the road is rarely linear.
• Value of Community: You can’t do it all alone. Leaning on others for support and collaboration is crucial.
• Adaptability: Being open to change and willing to evolve keeps you ahead in any industry.
What I Want the World to Know:
My service in the community brings authenticity, innovation, and community involvement, and my journey is a testament to the power of determination and passion. Whether it’s through my office work or my preaching at the church. I aim to inspire others to pursue their dreams and create a positive ripple effect.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: Arrival & Local Vibes • Morning: Pick them up and head to a cozy breakfast spot like Sakpase Restaurant for some fantastic pancakes and coffee.
• Afternoon: Walk downtown Homestead, Florida, to explore the unique shops, street art, and local markets.
• Evening: my wife likes to cook, so I will ask my wife to cook a special dish for us. She can do a better job than at any restaurant and finish the night at home with a drink in my backyard.
Day 2: Nature Day
• Morning: I will take my friend to the Everglades to look at nature.
• Lunch: We can go to the Biscayne Bay Park of Homestead by the beach with a restaurant for lunch. Pack a picnic or stop at [Rustic Diner or Café Name] for a hearty meal.
• Afternoon: We can visit some parks in Homestead, which have at least 11 parks.
• Evening: I will take my friend to Miami Beach at a fine restaurant, then relax back home or take a quiet walk under the stars.
Day 3: History & Culture
• Morning: We will go downtown Miami for breakfast and sightseeing, such as museums.
• Lunch: We will go to Little Haiti for a cultural tour of Haitian arts or articles as well as Haitian food for lunch.
• Afternoon: Little Haiti has many historical places or articles representing the nation.
• Evening: Attend a live performance or movie at the downtown Miami Art Center.
Day 4: Foodie Adventure
• All Day: Visit a food market or participate in a local food tour. Hit up hidden gems for brunch, snacks, and dessert.
• Evening: Go on a brewery or wine tour, trying local craft beers or wines.
Day 5: Day Trip to Nearby Destination
• Spend the day at Key Largo, explore the sights, take photos, and enjoy activities unique to that location.
• Have dinner at a renowned restaurant in the area before heading back.
Day 6: Relaxation & Shopping
• Morning: Take it slow with breakfast a Haitian breakfast at home.
• Afternoon: Go shopping at Dolphin Mall to buy and take pictures.
• Evening: Host a relaxed dinner at home with my family.
Day 7: Farewell Fun
• Morning: Go to the morning mass and have breakfast at a restaurant.
• Afternoon: A final stroll through your favorite neighborhood, such as the Redland of Homestead.
• Evening: I will drive my friend to the airport to continue our conversation.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my Lord Jesus Christ, my friends, and my family for their unwavering support and belief in me, even when I doubted myself. Their encouragement gave me the courage to take bold steps and follow my dreams. I also want to recognize my wife, Glardia J. Fleurimond, and my children, Pharlandi A. Fleurimond, Gerdia A. Fleurimond, and Alpha E. Fleurimond, for their guidance and wisdom. These have been instrumental in helping me navigate the challenges and uncertainties along my journey. They taught me the value of resilience and staying true to my vision.
Thank you to many friends, church leaders, and parents for allowing me to grow, network, and learn. Being part of that community has been a game-changer, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the lessons and support. I’ve gained from those experiences.
Finally, books like Think and Grow Rich, 40 Powers of Law, Human Resources Management for the Public and Nonprofit, and The Broke Millennial. That book opened my mind to new ways of thinking and inspired me to push beyond my comfort zone.
Success is rarely a solo effort, and I’m incredibly grateful for the people, prayer life, resources, and experiences that have helped me.
