We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Giz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alyssa, how do you think about risk?
Creating this business has been a risky idea due to my decision in making desserts that are exclusively gluten-free, corn-free, soy-free, nut-free – as well as being vegan. On top of this, the fact I’m based in Miami doesn’t quite give me the most confidence. Sadly, the details of my products cause skepticism in this South Florida area, as we have such a small circle of quality vegan products.
What should our readers know about your business?
Rich brownies, mini cookies, cakes, low-sugar options and more can be found on my business Instagram. Every option tastes great and can be catered at any event without worrying someone will be left out of the best part of celebrating.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I adore live-music, art, and any other creative outlets that I can immerse myself or be audience to. There are too many spots in South Florida that I’d recommend, but to make it short, I’d like to encourage people to look around for events in their area weekly. Small businesses and artists are everywhere trying to showcase their talents, you just gotta find them!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Ther are some family and friends that have really had my back emotionally, during the start of this venture. If I hadn’t been for them taste-testing, attending markets with me, reposting pictures on social media, and reminding me how allergen-free products are necessary, I would have quit a while ago.
