Meet Alyssa Severino | Hairstylist & Hair Extension specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Severino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alyssa, how do you think about risk?
Risk-taking has played a major role in my success so far. I’ve never been afraid to step outside my comfort zone because I believe growth only happens when you’re willing to take chances. Right after high school, I left my small town for a big city—where I didn’t know anyone—to pursue a better education in this industry. Three years later, with a solid skill set, I took another leap and moved 15 hours away to an even bigger city to keep growing. It was the best decision for my career. I’ve gained experience and perspective I never would have had if I stayed in one place. My dad always told me, “So what if it doesn’t work out? At least you tried—and you always have a home to come back to.” That mindset continues to guide me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m proud of the work and education I’ve put into setting myself apart in the hair industry. I believe in work/life balance, but I also know that extra effort now builds a better future. It hasn’t been easy — I’ve made sacrifices, including time away from family and friends—but their support has kept me going.
What drives me most is the ability to help women feel confident and beautiful, especially when they need it most. That feeling is unmatched. Along the way, I’ve learned that staying true to myself is key in an industry filled with big personalities.
More than just doing great hair, I care deeply about the people in my chair. Building genuine connections is what makes my work so meaningful to me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I’ve only lived in Florida for a year, I feel like I’m still exploring everywhere! However, when the girls come to visit we love,
A good day beach day in Fort Lauderdale
At night we like to explore around Las Olas and have dinner and drinks at Louie Bossi, El Camino or Moxies. Sometimes end the night at palm room or the Shorely
We love to try new workout classes like reforming Pilates, solid core or yoga joint
Take a mini trip for Wine night at lagniappe or a sunset boat ride.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe so much of my journey to my parents. Their endless support has shaped who I am, both personally and professionally. They’ve never once told me my dreams were too big—even when they seemed a little crazy to others. Instead, they encouraged me to chase them and do the best I can. More than just being hard workers, my parents taught me the importance of kindness, compassion, and treating people with respect.
While I’m passionate about creating beautiful hair, what matters most to me is creating a welcoming, comfortable space for anyone who sits in my chair—and that all stems from the way I was raised. I’m incredibly grateful for the values they instilled in me, and I truly wouldn’t be where I am without them.
