We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda & Nathalie K!Junkies and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda & Nathalie, what inspires you?
The obvious answer may just be “K-Pop” itself, but there’s much more to it than that! K-Pop is such a big industry with artists that excel in not only just singing and dancing, but acting, modeling, and starting their own businesses! The constant flow of K-Pop music and other media is what keeps us interested and keeps us wanting to create even more content, as fans and for fans. Aside from that, being a (now) engaged couple, we also inspire each other with new ideas and our mutual love for the same things. As long as we have each other and K-Pop, we continue to be inspired to create something new and exciting for other fans.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Standing out in the K-Pop YouTube world has proven to be difficult. We believe what sets us apart is that we are one of the few female same-sex couples in that community, having been K-Pop fans for over 10 years and becoming a couple through the genre. We’ve seen a lot happen over the years, and we like to use our knowledge of the industry to showcase how much we really enjoy K-Pop too. We never pretend to like what’s trendy just to get views – we will always be true to our craft and to ourselves. Additionally, we are excited to extend our K-Pop “career” to more physical events, hosting panels and activities for K-Pop fans at conventions around the country. We’ve already been doing so in Florida for the past few years, and our goal is to expand to bigger conventions with more K-Pop fans!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely one of our favorite restaurants is Oh Ho Noodles! They have the best baked pork buns and tonkatsu on curry & rice, plus their boba tea is great too. Another favorite boba tea spot of ours is Lan Pan, which is actually not too far from Oh Ho Noodles. If you want to try some of the best ice cream in Miami, check out La Glace in Coral Gables. They have amazing flavors and toppings, and they even make cookie ice cream sandwiches and brioche buns. And for anyone that wants to take some aesthetic photos, the Design District has some great variety. There are also some places to eat there as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without being specific, our devoted subscribers are definitely what keeps us going. Being a YouTube creator comes with a lot of backlash, even when you’ve said nothing wrong on video. It’s the sweet comments thanking us for our hard work that remind us that it’s still worth it and that we want to continue bringing more content for those viewers.
