We had the good fortune of connecting with Ammie Salom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ammie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It was Important to create a platform where real health issues are addressed. Specifically, those health issues that impact women.

We are burning out at alarming rates with much added responsibilities and no resources. We see many advertisements about health and wellness but what does that look like for women who don’t have access to those resources. if we don’t demand change, then change won’t happen. Through yoga and integrated wellness services we help women reach optimal ways of living that are sustainable. We no can no longer afford to negate our health. We are here to amplify the voice of the wellness community and help all women leave behind the burnout phase.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Ammie Salom is a dedicated healthcare professional, with 10 years of leadership experience at top healthcare organizations in the tri-state area. She works with many community organizations to help bring awareness to issues that impact disenfranchised groups of people. In addition, Ammie helps raise funds in support of young women who need assistance attending college.

She is the founder of Femmnominal Women LLC, a collaborative community wellness platform dedicated to encouraging women to live healthy, productive, fulfilling lives in a sustainable way. Most recently, Ammie became a certified yoga teacher to help her clients further reach their goals. Through this growing platform, she hosts events brining women together to share insight about health, careers, family life, as well as connecting them to a network of women who cultivate a positive and supportive community.

Ammie loves to talk all things health! Are bodies being our most expensive asset, we need to starting treating it as such, and that requires relearning new ways that allow us to heal and grow.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am from NYC born and raised so the possibilities are endless. Being that I love food, we would do a food tour of all our favorite cuisines, next we would spend a day catering to our wellness needs so yoga, massage, facial and more eating. I would take them to visit some art galleries in Harlem and after have dinner at a super club where we could watch Pedrito Martinez, Famous Cuban performer. We would also sneak in night of salsa dancing down in Industry City located in Brooklyn. I would also take them for a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many people who I can dedicate my work to, but the truth is, I have been my own inspiration. I can’t devalue my work and efforts, so this is dedicated to little Ammie for always helping me get through the challenging times, and for allowing me to flourish and thrive when I thought I would fail.
