We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Navas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is a necessity if you want to get out of the place you are in right now, whether it is in your personal life or career taking risks is in my opinion the only way to move forward. Personally, I wouldn’t be where I am right now in life and in business if I hadn’t taken massive risks. I started providing Virtual Assistant services at the end of 2019 but in February of 2020 I decided to find a way to make this a real business and eventually my main source of income, and then the pandemic hit. At that time I had just taken a major risk and hired a business coach who I had to pay 4 figures and I had no idea how I was going to do so I used my financial aid money for the deposit and was supposed to make monthly payments for the next 3 months. I was terrified, I might lose my day job due to the pandemic, I have a 5 figure debt with this coach and I only have 1 client paying $350 a month. There was so much uncertainty but I decided to take the risk and keep going. In a matter of weeks my clientele started to grow and fast forward 4 months later at the end of June I put in my 2 weeks notice and quit my 9-5 job. Here we go again another HUGE risk. My business was only making just a bit more than what I was making at my 9-5 but it had gotten to the point where I couldn’t do both and take onto more clients. So, I did it. I was terrified, with my business I didn’t have a guarantee of income. I never knew how much I was going to make the following week, even less the following month but I knew taking the risk was the only way to move forward. It’s been almost a year since I decided to take the risk, spend a lot of money I didn’t have in business coaching, and starting my business. Now I run a studio, I have 3 team members working with me, we have helped over 17 entrepreneurs/small businesses in the last 6 months, have helped our clients launch programs that bring in over $50k in sales, I have been a speaker at 2 summits, started a podcast, a coaching business, and now I’m taking another huge risk and investing to start an online clothing store. I get to run my business the way I want, work the hours I want, work from anywhere in the world, meet and connect with amazing entrepreneurs all over the world, help other entrepreneurs reach their business goals, and all of it just because I decided to take a risk and continue to take risks every single day. To run a successful business you have to take risks every day with every decision you take. To live the life of your dreams you have to take risks every single day. You will not move forward if you play it safe.

Overall we help our clients bring their ideas to life by strategizing and implementing the logistic factor. In the last 6 months we have worked with over 17 entrepreneur/small businesses, helped a client bring in over $50k in sales with a strong launch strategy and development of digital product. I started this journey back in February 2020, it was a one women show working on it every hour I wasn’t at my 9-5 job. For a long time I didn’t get more than 3 to 4 hours of sleep, well, sometimes I still don’t. The first 3 months were hard, I was starting a business from the ground up with not knowledge on how to run a business and I was doing it in the middle of a pandemic that put the world in the most uncertain times. It’s not joke to run a business, but everyday I woke up with the determination to keep going, to keep growing, to do everything in my power to provide my clients with top notch service During this journey I have learn many lessons that have taken me to where I am right now and I want to share a few with all of you. 1) If you are in the online world you might here a lot the term Niching and many coaches talk about niching down and being very specific with your niche and your ideal client but I have a different opinion on this topic. I learned that at first niching down shouldn’t be a thing for you, EXPERIMENTING is the key. It’s okay to leave yourself open to experiment with different type of clients, services, and so on. This will allow you to really figure out what you truly enjoy doing and who you really want to serve. 2) CONTRACTS, if you provide a service having a contract is a must-have. This is going to save you so many headaches, I recommend to hire a lawyer to help you with this but you might have to go through some trial and error with your clients to get the contracts to be perfect and provide full coverage. 3)You can run and grow your business of referalls as long as your client experience is PREMIUM. 4) GET HELP! You don’t have to do it alone, trying to do everything by yourself is just going to get you burnout and slow down the process. Have no idea how to run a business, hire a coach, don’t know how to build a website, hire a designer, have no idea how to set-up your back-end systems hire us. Ok no but, really stay in your zone of genius and delegate the rest.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Miami, there are so many amazing places to visit but some of my favorites are the following: Via Verdi is an amazing Italian restaurant, PM Fish and Steak House has the best crab ravioli and amazing wine. Astra and The Citidale are 2 amazing rooftops. The Citidale also has little food spots on the first floor as well as a cool store that makes clothes out of materials like the amazon shipping mailers. Club Space is forever my favorite club and on Saturday they do a free yoga session at 4:20 pm better known as 420 Space Yoga. Some other places that are a must to visit are Wynwood, Bayside Marketplace, and obviously south beach because you can’t come to Miami and not go to Sobe.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First of all, I want to dedicate it to my business coach Andrea Feris, she helped me get started and I honestly wouldn’t have made it here so quickly if it wasn’t for her. I also want to thank my Chief Brand Officer and business friend Kate Obert, she is The Branding Queen who not only helps me create badass brands but has also been by my side every step of the way. Lastly, to my mastermind girls Elyse Conroy and Mariya Bentz who have also been a huge part of my personal and business growth.
