We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process to starting my own business was; making myself happy and challenging the status quo of traditional beauty. It is in the eye of the beholder! When we remember this; we begin to use our advantages and platforms to bring others into our lives and on our journeys.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As an Actor; I’ve focused on quality over quantity. This particular path has not been favored by many Actors at the beginning of their careers but, I’ve realized as I’ve grown that; “Less is More!” This quote isn’t solely for individuals who are already at the height of their success but also for beginners who are entering their journeys seeking healthy and stable careers. I’m most proud of the work portfolio I’ve built thus far with this thought in mind. I tip my hat to anyone who’s learned this at the beginning of their career.

Regarding Interior Design; I’ve always had an eye for fashion in this manner. From College dorm days to now, I’ve wanted to be surrounded by Beauty and Art. I recently adopted the same Actor mindset of “Less is More” in my home decor. After studying many design styles and having to spend so much time at home; I began to redecorate my space in the style of Wabi Sabi. Studying Interior Design, I learned that there’s a difference in having good taste and creating a journey/feeling with Home Design. I am obsessed with creating small pockets of healing and beauty in my client’s home using Wabi Sabi decor pieces.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite places to visit in my hometown is; my home! I would bring my friends/family here first to experience what I’ve created. Everyone has complimented my space! They appreciate the feeling of calmness as they enter with the color palettes and smells of fresh plants and jade. Second; I would take them to our outdoor mall Victoria Gardens! It’s a great shopping center filled with delicious places to eat and awesome places to shop. It’s such a family friendly place to hang during the day and super vibes at night.

I also love downtown Riverside! It has many bars and dance spots to listen to good music and watch football games! If my family/friends are looking for good views and scenery; the Mission Inn is also a great place to be.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is definitely a village of individuals whom have taken part in my success thus far. I want to thank them all! For their kind words, their encouragement, their love and support. Some that have made my most recent years shine are; my wonderful husband Tommy – the backbone to me! My Queen Mother Lola – who gave me life and continues too everyday! My very best friend Mathew – who drops everything to make my dreams come true! My CSULB Black Girl Magic Squad – Danielle, Shanelle and Monique who remind me to never leave my crown at home! And, my Confidant Anthony – who made this opportunity and many more happen for me.
