We had the good fortune of connecting with Andy Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As CEO and Founder, I am responsible for making sure we adhere to our core values and guidelines while staying fresh and relevant within the industry. I decided to start this business with one goal in mind: to spread the knowledge and awareness of a life-saving act so that anyone and everyone could be ready when needed. “CPR isn’t only a skill, but truly a life-changing ability.”
Save-A-Beat CPR provides an enriched learning environment that has helped countless students get ahead. Our unparalleled teaching methods help participants prepare for the next step in their career and broaden their horizons. We are an approved American Heart, American Red Cross and American Safety and Health Institute Training Site.
With our dedicated team of instructors, our goal is to equip our students and our community with the necessary skills and awareness to potentially save a life. We want to inspire, support, and develop knowledgeable individuals with practical skills to achieve the best outcome possible. We offer a variety of courses from Basic Life Support (BLS) to Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Medical Assistant Review Courses.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a board certified Physician Associate working in Urgent Care and Family Medicine. One of the most rewarding things about my career is impacting others and being able to help them medically. As a medical provider, being there for patients in their best and worst moments is one of the things that I am the most proud of. Not only does my love for medicine allow me to help the community clinically, but also to educate and spread knowledge to others. Being able to incorporate my entrepreneurial skills with my medical knowledge has allowed and aided my business to thrive. For me, it is not about how many people are certified, but rather about how many people I can inform and educate. There have been challenges along the way, but using them as a motivation and learning from them has truly impacted my successes and failures. As long as I am able to, I will continue to impact my community in whatever way possible.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start by taking them to the Design District and walking around. I would then go for lunch at Bayfront Park, and stay around the area for some drinks. I would also explore Wynwood Walls and grab lunch at 1-800 Lucky.. Visiting Mangos on Miami Beach and going for a swim is a must. I would then go on a fishing charter and end my night at Rusty Pelican.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Every single person that has been a part of my journey, from family members to Mentors.
