We had the good fortune of connecting with Coach Angela Kerri and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It was a life process that was behind the start of my business. I always knew that at some point, I would do something where I would empower women, I just didn’t know how nor the timing of it all. Prior to my business, I was a national security expert and pretty comfortable in my life. Then life happened. My husband was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (stage 4 brain cancer) and within 18 months he was gone and I was a single mom of 3 girls. It was during his sickness that what I thought was for later down the road became my crossroads of now. You see, I had lost my father 5 years prior and the process of losing my husband woke me up to realize that life is not infinite and that I didn’t want to die having not fulfilled my dreams or at least tried relentlessly in pursuit of them. Purpose is everything to me and when I am in my purpose, I am in alignment and everything flows. Starting my own business was just a manifestation of that purpose. In a tangible sense, it gave me freedom and time…time to be with my daughters, time to enjoy all the things that life has to offer. I became the master of my ship and the curator of my destiny. That is empowering.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There a thousands of life coaches but what sets me apart is that I am a life coach specifically for the high-performing, professional woman. My program deals with issues of the heart, mind and soul. I believe it is a waste of time to work on goals and exterior plans if you have failed to address the inside. I help my clients align their success and what they do with who they are authentically. In other words, there is no point in making SMART goals if you are rife with limiting belief systems.

I was her and I am her. My brand is authentically me. I am an empath, an energy healer, a purpose accelerator and very much focused on bringing out the brilliance and divine purpose in every woman I have the honor of crossing paths with.

I am a survivor but more importantly I am a thriver. I am that professional woman who understands a competitive playing field, performed well even while battling imposter syndrome and micro aggressions, created space for herself and then had the courage to pivot into her passion. I did it scared…but I did it. I fully understood that the pain to remain closed up was far more detrimental than than the fear of blossoming

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
You will find me in Boca Raton. It’s my second home. Honestly, Mizner Park has a little bit of everything….great shops, great dining and just fun spots to enjoy the sun and people watch…not to mention the great shows and entertainment that comes there often. Best Italian spot I give to Nonna’s. Catch them on the weekend for good Italian music and a singing bartender that gives Pavarotti a run for his money. It has all the good vibes of a family friendly Italian restaurant. Best seafood is the Fish Market. Great ambience, FRESH seafood and fabulous drinks. A great place for cigars and after dinner drinks I give to Diplomat Cigar Lounge. Of course, the beaches are perfection. Not too crowded and busy like Fort Lauderdale and Miami. I love to head to South Beach Park. It is a no frills, great beach that doesn’t get too crowded. After a great day at the beach, you are within walking distance to great Thai, refreshing Playa Bowls or amazing NY style pizza and buttery garlic rolls. Couldn’t leave Boca without a great fine dining experience at La Nouvelle Maison. Dinner is superb and what’s a great French restaurant without amazing bread and butter to die for. Nouvelle Maison gets it. As you can see, food is important to me.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A shout out is definitely in order for my mother. She has always been my number supporter of my family, dreams and just about all things in my life. Her support, even if she didn’t fully understand, was a staple for me. My late husband was the same way. He always pushed me to grow and challenge myself. In fact, he told me during his sickness to launch my business. He knew that my heart was for developing women leaders and aligning them to their purpose. I would have to shout out the book “Untamed,” by Glennon Doyle. Changed my perspective on so many things. By the time I was done with the book, I was beyond bold in pursuing my destiny. I am never going to lose me. Finally my daughters. They are my legacy and my heart walking on the Earth. As a life coach, I always say that they are my first clients. If I can raise them to be confident, resilient, leaders with a servant’s heart and lovers of life, I have succeeded.
