Hi Anna, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
One of the most important lessons in my career that I can pass along to anyone considering starting their own business, is to KNOW YOUR WORTH! I started Society Social Palm Beach at the ripe age of 24, which tends to raise a lot of brows. Confidence and a strong worth ethic is key to owning your own business. There is no such thing as “luck,” it all simply comes down to a hard work ethic that gets it’s well deserved rewards in the end. If you are in your early 20’s such as myself it can be a bit challenging to gain your confidence in business. You have to stand your ground against professionals who have been playing the game a lot longer than you. When I first started my business I struggled with setting prices that reflected the quality of my work, which in the end left me feeling under appreciated and overworked. It takes a lot of guts to go out and start your own business. It’s a lot of work, stress, and time. If you are willing to discipline yourself into running your own business and staying on top of business fundamentals in an ever changing world you deserve a lot of credit. When accepting any project or job don’t lose sight of everything you have worked so hard for, and don’t be afraid to let your pricing reflect this. You’re going to face a lot of no’s and people trying to reduce your pricing. When working in the creative industry it’s important to work with clients who you can build a respectful relationship with. Choose to work with the right clients as this will create a breeding ground for the creativity and inspiration to flow naturally.

As we ramp up for next season we are excited to be partnering up with an amazing production called Native Productions, South Florida Based Brands, and some of the hottest events in South Florida. This year we are ready to ruffle some feathers in the creative industry and deliver a new and modern approach to Brand and Event marketing.

When I came up with the name Society Social, I imagined a digital marketing company that helps local businesses take their marketing to the next level. The Social Media Realm as we know it is constantly changing and we’re here to set a new standard. Not everyone gets a cookie-cutter plan, and a lot more goes into digital marketing than putting up pretty pictures and running campaigns. We’re here to help bring your brand into society and make it stick, online and in person.

Working in Luxury Hospitality for 9 years prior to starting Society Social made me realize the importance of online reputation. When I was in the industry, we were always responding to feedback regardless if it was negative or positive. Often times creating a strong relationship with guests well after their stay. I have been Forbes 5 Star Trained twice in my career and the customer service standards I have walked away with are some that I have realized set apart good businesses from great businesses. While it was a bit scary to give up stability my drive and ambition to go off on my own was inspired by my drive to think outside of the box. Coming from a traditionally conservative industry didn’t exactly breed the inspiration I was craving out of my career. That being said Society Social Palm Beach is more than just another creative agency trying to break though in South Florida. We put our hearts and soul into working with our clients and I can proudly say the metrics are there to back it up, we haven’t failed yet!

I got to where I am today through sacrifice. Sometimes you have to step aside from all of the distractions, there are a lot of things going on in South Florida almost everyday. I dedicated a lot of my free time to developing Society Social Palm Beach and had the chance to rediscover myself along the way. If you’re serious about turning a passion into a business and getting to do what you love everyday I recommend taking time to yourself to think about what you want in life. A mentor of mine recently said to me “If you won the lottery what would you do everyday that makes you happy? I turned my answer into my business and work doesn’t feel like work.” I think of this conversation daily when I feel as if I’m lacking inspiration and It keeps me going. An important lesson from this is to surround yourself with like minded individuals. You are a collection of the top 5 people you surround yourself with. Surround yourself with people who are building what you want to build and ones that are miles ahead in life. This will keep you in the right mindset!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Whenever my best friends come into town I enjoy taking them for dinner and drinks at Lola 41 inside the White Elephant Hotel. It’s one of my favorite places to dine with a lively and social atmosphere. One of the things I love about Palm Beach is the abundance of engaging social and cultural events to attend as well. If we’re ever in the mood to shake things up I always appreciate the variety in South Florida. Each area down here has a completely different vibe from West Palm Beach to Miami. It’s always a fun adventure when we pop around the different areas.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my inner circle, out of respect I’ll leave their names out for their privacy. I will say that without any of my closest friends and family Society Social Palm Beach would not be possible. I have faced a lot of ups and downs over the past year and I’d like to personally thank them for being in my corner during my hardest times. One of the most important things I’ve learned is that the ones who are there for you in the “lows” will be the ones who deserve a place in the “highs.” As I continue to grow I am so thankful for their constant support and encouragement.
