We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Hermida and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I often think that taking risks is like a crossroad. On one hand you can play it safe and be comfortable in your decision, or you can choose to take the risk and welcome the unknown. I often had a difficult time taking risks growing up as I felt like society pressures you to do things in a certain way. I noticed that I wasn’t fulfilled by these societal standards and found myself happier every time I stepped out of the norm. It’s easy for us to not take risks because we worry and wonder what if it doesn’t work out? I found myself complacent and unhappy at my 9-5 job and knew I had more to offer. I began to change my way of thinking and started to tell myself, what if it does work out? I knew that taking this risk to start a career as a Realtor introduced me to a new crossroad where I could fail or I could prosper. I decided to take the risk not only because it allows me to have freedom and control of my own schedule, but because there is no limit as to how much I can make as an entrepreneur. I quickly realized life is too short to be comfortable or complacent and so I continue to take risks as they come. Beginning my career in Real Estate was the greatest and most rewarding risk I ever took.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Realtor who provides services in South Florida in Broward County, Miami-Dade County, and Palm Beach County. What sets me apart from others is my determination, strong work ethic, marketing strategies and online presence. I strive to be the kind of agent that makes the process of buying or selling as easy and stress free as possible for my clients. I also make it my top priority to represent my clients best interest and provide them with the results that they wish to see.
As part of my business, I am constantly networking and meeting new people. I enjoy building new relationships and educating others about Real Estate whether that be new clients or new agents seeking advice. One of my favorite parts about educating others regarding Real Estate is that they learn of all the options that are out there for them when they thought it was impossible for them to ever own a home. Making their homeowner dreams a reality is just part of the job and I love being able to be a part of that process.
“Anna Hermida is the most personable and caring realtor we have met. She took her time to work with us and find a home that met all of our wants and needs. Throughout the process she did a fantastic job of keeping us updated and provided the upmost professionalism. She not only helped us find our dream home but gave us an experience we will never forget. We are extremely grateful to have had Anna as our realtor.” -The Rivera Family
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area I would make sure to hit all my favorite spots and show them all that South Florida has to offer.
1. Fort Lauderdale for a beach day which would include jet skiing and lunch at a restaurant on the water.
2. The Florida Keys for a boat day at the Islamorada sandbar with some good music and food.
3. The Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood for dinner, a show, and maybe a little gambling.
4. Brickell City Centre in Downtown Miami for lunch at Casa Tua Cucina and some shopping.
5. Brunch and sightseeing art in Wynwood.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not be where I am today without my boyfriend Anthony. He is a Mortgage Loan Originator, Realtor, and entrepreneur. He has always pushed me and encouraged me to take risks. He has seen the potential in me even in the moments where I could not. Not only has he been supportive of my business endeavors, but has been a helping hand into the real estate world for me as well. Seeing Anthony so successful in his business endeavors was inspiring and motivated me to pursue Real Estate as well.
I would also like to thank my dad who is an Engineer and entrepreneur. He has always taught me from a young age the importance of being an entrepreneur and motivated me to chase my goals in whatever they may be in. My dad has always expressed the immense potential he’s seen in me from a young age which allowed me to fully see that potential within myself as an adult. Seeing my dad work hard at his craft and be so passionate about it from a young age was a huge motivation for me to become an entrepreneur as well.
